Like I said in my other thread, that is much more a possibility now than it was a year or two ago![]()
We just want you to make all the bridges, Donny!

I still have a little twinge with that scene. God, I hated GEN...
Yes, let’s keep any discussion of the TVH Enterprise-A bridge in this thread, pleaseThere were a lot of things wrong with that movie. Frankly, Kirk's original death was even WORSE originally and had to be re-shot. That movie still offends me to this very day, especially the way they treated the Enterprise-D, trashing her just for kicks. Heck, I wanted to hate whatever design they came up for with the Enterprise-E, but John Eaves made a winner with his Sovereign-class, of which I have three replicas of (one still in original packaging). In "Star Trek III," destroying the Enterprise made perfect sense narrative-wise.
That being said, I'm among those to see Donny do the TVH Enterprise-A bridge as mentioned in the other thread, which many believe should be discussed in this thread.
Oh, I’ll fix that floor for sure.Regarding the floor of the TVH Ent-A bridge, consider this screen shot:
https://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/tvhhd/tvhhd2278.jpg
The floor looks pretty bad. It's wrinkled. Some of the pieces of whatever it is they used for flooring seem to be coming up, and some don't seem to be cut to the proper size.
Are you going to be screen-accurate, or are you going to attempt to "fix" any production issues such as those to do with the floor?
Oh, I’ll fix that floor for sure.
My general rule of thumb is to replicate wear and tear that was MEANT to be there (such as on the TUC Ent-A bridge) but correct such things that were not, like the TVH Ent-A floor being obviously not given proper care before shooting.
I know that my use of CRTs on the TFF and TUC Ent-A bridges kind of goes against this, but it’s my prerogative to do so![]()
I dunno about the floor. It looks perfectly fine for a ship straight out of the factory to have static plastic covering the floor waiting to be peeled off.![]()
I'm reminded of that scene in Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy when the gang open up the hatch to the manual controls - they are immediately showered by polystyrene balls and packaging materials because the ship is brand new and those controls have never been used beforeNow I'm picturing Sulu and Chekov pulling a giant sheet of plastic covering off the helm before they sit down.
That requires a lengthy answer. I’m actually planning to do a “bridge differences” article for the TOS movie era bridges soon for Ex Astris Scientia. Stay tuned for that. Until then, you can view my renders on my Flickr of the TMP and TWOK bridges to see the differences between those.Donny, what were the differences you saw from TMP, TWOK bridge to TVH bridge?
Oh, that'll be fun! I look forward to reading it.I’m actually planning to do a “bridge differences” article for the TOS movie era bridges soon for Ex Astris Scientia. Stay tuned for that.
