I haven't done any research, so this is just me tossing an idea into the void, but how close were the mass produced model kits? Could you use those for detailing or were they way off?
I've actually been supplementing my filming miniature reference with images of the Bandai model kit, which seems to be more or less screen-accurate. However, some of those finer details escape the camera's focus or clarity.I haven't done any research, so this is just me tossing an idea into the void, but how close were the mass produced model kits? Have you seen Bill's George's TIE cockpit? (link)Mayyyyybe. I want to, I really do. But there's such scant reference for many of the details.
I have! Just realized today that it's actually a miniature, just photographed / photoshopped in ways to make it look full-size. Found images of it under construction today that will help me out when I tackle the cockpit interior.Have you seen Bill's George's TIE cockpit? (link)
