Donny's Non-Trek Stuff

Got the rest of the X1 blocked out tonight, and did the panel line work on the body. Lots of greebling to go, and haven't textured the solar panels at all yet. The cockpit hull is mostly complete because it was ported over from the standard TIE, however I do have some small adjustments to make to some of the greebles and panels. There aren't many reliable schematics of any of the TIEs out there, so I'm using scans of my TIE Hayne's Manual, which only include side views and front views. With this guy, I've had to eyeball the aft section using model photographs.

I love this guy. It looks a little odd without the greebling at the moment but I love the shapes.

If you ever fancy doing something a bit off-the-wall for a change, I'd love to see a Star Destroyer interior, but based on the old toy version!

So weird that this is being announced in the midst of my SW starfighter obsession:

As a player of X-Wing/TIE Fighter back in the day, I'm definitely going to dive head first into this!

I'm guessing this is going to be mostly multiplayer...

Interesting that literally the only gameplay feature that was highlighted in the trailer was power-management. If you know, you know.

Noticed no B-Wings in there, but what I really have my fingers crossed for is the TIE Defender.

With game business models these days, I'm sure we'll get the 3 basics of each side (Fighters, Bombers, Interceptors) in the core game, and stuff like B-Wings and Defenders will come in later DLC. Although I imagine they have to be careful about introducing something like a TIE Defender, which was massively overpowered in the classic game TIE Fighter, to a game that is built around multiplayer battles.

I don't see any gameplay footage, but I wonder if it will end up being a successor to the Roque Squadron games that many of us (including myself) loved so very much

I'm hoping for more of a X-wing/TIE Fighter feel as opposed to Rogue Squadron. And given the fact that the trailer hints at light simulation mechanics like power management, I'm betting it is.

Rogue Squadron had way too many planet missions and not enough space combat. This looks more like space combat.
