Doggies, Doggos and Doggeroos!

We’re picking Fred up now! He’s doing a lot better!

You don't have to answer if it's too troubling, but I'm curious as to his ailment requiring the overnight stay.
So we started seeing blood in his stool a couple days ago and I got worried but I though maybe he ate something red or had been constipated or something. However the next day he was throwing g up blood too so we decided to take him to the animal hospital.

When they took a look at him and the stool they said it was hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. It’s a food born illness. They said they needed to pump him up with fluid so he doesn’t dehydrate. I just was so afraid it was parvo because that has similar symptoms.

Whoa! Serious issues, then! Yeah, even if not a contagious disease (I had to Google "parvo"), dehydration in such a small animal is NOT something to be ignored!

I'm glad to read he's well enough to return home and that the both of you are doing better, him physically and you emotionally.
