She was a happy doggo.

The belly rubs!!!!
I'm glad you got to visit with her.Nah, with Iris, her sweet spot is that one armpit, always has been since the day we adopted her.
When my ex-wife opened the door and let me into the house, Iris took a moment or two before she recognized me. And then she lost her shit, running around, jumping back and forth from the furniture, barking, howling (as only a hound can do), crying, just a complete meltdown. My ex-wife grumped and said, "I've never gotten a greeting like that," and I said, "No shit, you haven't let me see her for a year and a half and she was always glued to me when we lived together."
Iris then lost her shit again a few hours later when I got up and started putting my shoes and coat on.

Maybe you should if the ex will allow you to have the dog.
No, it would not, in any way, be fair to her. I can't drive because I have a bum leg. How would I get her to the vet?
Beyond that, she is a rescue dog from Tennessee, and it's very clear that she experienced a trauma before my ex-wife and I adopted her; anytime the smoke alarms went off or she smelled smoke in the kitchen, she lost her mind. I'm relatively certain that she was a survivor of a fire.
But my ex-wife and I bought a 1,900-square-foot house about five years ago. How would it be fair for Iris to move from having so much space in which to run to ... my shitty two-bedroom apartment?
I'm so sorry Tribble. I hope the vet can fix him up.Fred is probably going back to the vet. There’s more blood in his stool. The bloodwork came back with Severe Pancreatitis. I’m terrified. He just doesn’t seem to be getting better. He laid around all day and barely drank water. I’m scared.

Me too. I just don’t feel as optimistic as I have. He seems significantly worse.I'm so sorry Tribble. I hope the vet can fix him up.
Positive thoughts. At the ER vet now. I’ll keep you guys updated. I’m so nervous.
