I just had a look at the AKC page for Norwegian Elkhounds and THIS is my Oreo! He was an Akita, Norwegian Elkhound mix. All those years I saw the Akita in him, but jeez, after seeing the images on their AKC page, he had far more NE than Akita in him. I'd never even bothered to look up NE purebred pictures before.

That's so sad. Why did the birds die at the same time?Oreo has been gone a long, long time. This was before my grandma died and I was 11 or 12 then. My birds died the same night she did and I never had any more.

I guess I could post a scan of Binky, my parents' dog they had at the first house I lived in. I was about three or four when she died, so I don't remember much about her other than her looks.

I remember once, several years after she passed and we moved, I was sad one night. I don't remember if I was sad about something particular or just sad. I started concentrating on Binky and how I missed her. I guess she gave me focus that night. I seriously remember next-to-nothing about her other than she was so small and our other dogs were so big.
