Does anyone here exercise regularly?

Circuit strenght training 3 days a week. Cardio 6 days. Pilates 6 days... and I'm picking up running on top of it all. ;) (Yes, on top of the other cardio I already do).

Did I mention that I'm working on getting certified as a personal trainer. :vulcan:

Just call me star, the gymrat. ;)

I am riding the dickens out of my bicycle these days averaging over 100 miles per week and some really ass-kicking hills. This is all in preparation for a 62 mile ride on October 9 to raise money for the Orange County AIDS Services Foundation. It will be a major challenge but I'm sure I can finish it. Question is, will I be able to drive home? It is keeping my 64 year old, 6 foot carcass at around 155 lbs and that feels pretty good.

That's AWESOME! Good luck on your ride. You'll have to tell us how it goes.

In fact, I demand that he Twitters while he's cycling. It's the only way to know.

Definitely. Good luck, Mutai!

I have no doubt you will finish. Say hi to the Mrs. Sho-Rin for me and Hubby.

Good luck, Mutai. That's a great cause. We'll send the TrekBBS Copter to give you a ride home. :bolian:

^ Yeah, truly a worthy cause :)

Myself, I just play mixed team indoor Volleyball once a week for two and a half hours (not counting our match days, we have one, maybe two regular matches per month).

Oh, and I never use the elevator, ever (I live on the 6th floor), if that counts as exercise ;)

One of my friends told me about this program called Couch to 5K which starts out alternating running and walking for 30 minutes and over 9 weeks builds up to running a 5K in 30 minutes. I hate running, but I'm thinking of giving it a try anyway since I really need a workout and I can't take the time or money to dance right now.

I'm halfway through that, and I absolutely love it. If you haven't been exercising for a while, I'd suggest building up a walking program beforehand.

I love love LOVE running! Before I started actually meditating, it was the time during the day that I meditated. It's so good for the mind and body. My legs are really in shape due to running.

I do that 3x a week, and on the other two weekdays I lift weights.

I exercise on a regular basis.
Either every day, or every other day (depends on my mood).
Usually it's comprised of 1 hour of running and some aerobic/muscle exercises afterwards.

I don't go to the gym because it requires cash to invest, and I simply don't have the luxury to do so.
I simply do my own exercising.

I have no idea what gym costs are. I joined a gym waaaaaaaay back in 1984 that got bought by Bally's. $50/year. That's it. No monthly fees. $95 for 2 years is you pay for them at the same time. No expiration.

Understandable why I kept the membership up even if I didn't go for years, huh?

I usually run 5K every morning, and a longer training run on Sundays. I make it to the gym 1-2 times a week for weights.

Since becoming a dad, I've had way less time to work out than I used to, but that's OK.

I wish I could run even just 500m, I generally start walking after a couple of hundred metres. But got plans on fixing my mountain bike sometime this long weekend.
