Do you think the writers in voyager were closet sexists?

The Tal Shiar operatives held captive by the Dominion were willing to work with Cardassians and Federation prisoners to escape, and one sacrificed his life to save the others. Also the Romulans in "The Chase" were the most open-minded ones of the lot of aliens chasing the Precursors' secret (aside from the Feds), and the Romulan Captain from "Face of the Enemy" was pretty non-hostile as well.

I'd say there is plenty of evidence showing that they could work with a crew of Feds in the name of survival, while their differences would also make the show more interesting. It would be a "We may have both been wrong about the other" situation.

Plus, if there's 120 Feds and 30 Romulans, they'd think twice about trying to kill them all and steal the ship. And you could just have the Fleeters pull a sacrifice in the premiere that makes them think "Okay, they DID sacrifice to save us, so let's not immediately try anything."

You didn't even have to say all of that.

"Message in a Bottle"

"Romulans"

"Prometheus"

You get the point?
Nuff said.

He rebels against the idea of settling down and all his relationships are with cheap women.

Seska's not cheap, she's damned pricey. And that was no relationship.
Please, that bitch was a $2 'ho.

Her grand scheme to get Maquis secrets from Chakotay?
Fuck him.
He grand scheme to get Chullah to seize Voyager?
Fuck him.

.....and she wasn't even that good a spy.
She got discovered in a bad lie.

Another change made earlier on that might help would be to have there be Cardassians, Klingons and maybe Ferengi who were being held on the Array. When it blows and they're all stranded they use their own vessels to go off. That way you can tell stories of the classic Trek aliens alongside the new VOY aliens to make them more acceptable.

You know what made it easier for the Dominion to be accepted on DS9? Because they were able to tell Dominion stories intertwined with Klingon/Romulan/Cardassian ones. This would give VOY's aliens the same chance, and since its' the same groups over and over it makes them recurring characters who also receive development as well.

Voyager didn't budget for recurring guest stars.

Giods knows what they spent their money on but it wasn't for actors of continuity inspection of the scripts.

Yeah but... those plans sort of worked! She did weasel into Chakotay's confidence, and she had Cullah wrapped around her pinky despite his constant whining that he would never let mere women boss him around. (What's a female Kazon look like?)

It was actually Cullah's overconfidence that screwed their little plans at the end of "Basics," not Seska.

Plus she gave Tuvok a good thrashing from the grave several years later. Let's give the good lady some credit. ...Although it WOULD have been nice if she had been a schemer that didn't solely rely on sex. It was kinda the tired old "Delilah" archetype. But at least she was pretty good at it.

If she were Romulan, she would of had a back up plan in "Basics pt2" and would have escaped. :p

Yeah, that would have been either Worse Case Scenario or Shattered. In the first she prepared a doomsday scenario to smite the people who whacked her, in the second time travel gave her the opportunity to sniff out that she was fucked and she turned the tables on the Indian "almost".

Girls got moves.

Not good enough.

Seska was supposed to be so clever, the way she died was lame. She should have gotten away.

No one was trying to kill her, and no one else died, even the baby, Seska was obviously still traumatized from giving birth recently and it's a testament to the steel in her back bone that she didn't complain while she was taking Voyager when she should be laid up in a hospital recuperating and reading the glossy magazines about celebrity gossip.
