Ride around in the car with your teenager and put on any rock from the 1980s on back, and you'll quickly hear from the authority that they're all oldies and nothing is classic. It's dinosaur rock.
Oldies are from the 60s. Classic rock is from the 70s. Get it right, people.
Dare I admit to watching silent movies on occasion?
(Just caught WEST OF ZANZIBAR with Lon Chaney Sr. the other morning. A weird, twisted movie.)

But how do they react to classic STAR TREK soundracks?![]()

Well in my family, if you're familiar with "Seinfeld", they have a "Mary Hart moment" in reaction to exposure to Trek music. I am, alas, the only Trek fan in the family.

You poor, poor boy.
Although, I can relate. There used to be several Star Trek fans in my family, but I have, sadly, outlived them all.
How long before they're old enough to start reading Uncle Greggie's books?
I was thinking more along the lines of your brother showing them "Space Seed" and then reading The Eugenics Wars (Your best work IMO.), but they might not be old enough for those yet.

Well, he can show them the covers at least.
Funny story: many, many years ago, I dedicated my XENA book to another niece, who checked every copy at the local bookstore to make sure her name was in ALL of them!![]()
I sure don't like the way they did a remake/reimagining of the TOS and characters, if it was a remake of TNG that would've been at least watchable (I am not a TOS fan).
Just the other day, I was pleased to hear that my little brother has started introducing my nieces to classic STAR TREK, beginning with "The Cage" and "Mantrap."
Good to know he's raising them right!![]()

Nice! The Cage still holds up as excellent, intelligent science-fiction. When I finally impregnate a female I'm gonna raise the spawn on TOS, TNG and DS9. I'll tell them scary bedtime stories of the Abrams film to make sure they behave.
Well, maybe Amy Farrah Fowler.
