Do you think Moriarty is still in that cube

It would be cool if Barclay or someone merged the Moriarty program with the Vic Fontaine program. Criminal mastermind versus Vegas lounge singer.

Once the Voyager gets back, the Doctor's mobile emitter can be reverse engineered. We can have billions of holographic people created and allowed to leave the holodeck to interact with the real world. Will they be given "people" status like Data? Picard once PROMISED Moriarty he would keep working on rescuing him, so, he should get the chance soon. ;)

It probably went down with the ship in Generations.

Suppose it was retrieved by the Romulans after that crash (for example as part of a cloaked expedition to steal some Federation secrets that are no longer tightly guarded). After the Romulans access Moriarty, he agrees to work together with them - not so much for their sake, but just to have an opportunity to get revenge on Picard. Nemesis might have been better with him instead of Shinzon ...

Unless it was destroyed (or left behind, like the priceless Kurlan naiskos) in Generations...
Clearly it was just a replica Picard keeps in his ready room. ;)

Hard to imagine Starfleet just leaves all their stuff on the planet for anyone to pick over. I posit there's a big time-cut between Picard/Riker beaming up and the Faragut leaving orbit.

If the call goes out for "Everyone evacuate to the escape pods," does Moriarty need to be taken with too?

Maybe sometime after "Ship in a Bottle", the containment unit containing Moriarty was transferred somewhere else. A Starfleet research facility, for example. The cube may not have been on the ship when it crashed.

I just went down a Memory Beta rabbit hole - having not read the Trek novels, the post-Nemesis stories go on quite extensively don't they? Presumably that'll all be wiped out with Star Trek: Picard.
Oh yeah, that's almost certainly a guarantee. Especially since some of the information already available about Picard contradicts the novels.

Yeah... just like they were going to have experts work on the problem of freeing him, after Elementary, Dear Data, but he ended up sitting in storage aboard the D for some years instead? They clearly don't give a crap about that guy, & now that he got dealt with once & for all, he probably just sat on a shelf in Barclay's room :guffaw:

I hope they stick to Picard's biography though... just got it recently
I doubt it! I read that recently and it completely ignores the novelverse, and appears to be totally incompatible with what we know about Star Trek: Picard.
