Do you expect JJTreklit to be different of the old Treklit?

Assuming it's ever going to take of. If so in which ways would be different?
Unfortunately, due to a rights issue, novels set in the movieverse are not likely to "take off" any time soon.

If they ever appear, it'll differ in tone from TOS the same way the movies do, and draw on the character's unique stories (i.e. Spock and Uhura being involved). The comics set in the new continuity differ from the ones set in TOS the same way.

It probably would be not dissimilar to the IDW comics: doesn't draw any background whatsoever from the prime universe even if it works.

^Well, it's talked about at second or third hand there. All I know is what I overheard at the panel in question.

Anyway, those of us who did write novels set in the Abrams continuity tried to tell stories that fit its more action-oriented and fast-paced style, and that would fit specifically into that continuity, i.e. stories that could only work in the Abramsverse rather than just being rehashed TOS. After all, Pocket already had TOS novels that we assumed would be coming out concurrently with the Abrams novels, so it only made sense to differentiate them. And really, it's what one would try to do with any film or TV franchise -- tell stories that capture its flavor and feel like they're a part of it.

I would expect any Abramsverse books, if they are ever released, to match the big action tone of the movies. I would also hope we would see them expand on the new material from the movies that we haven't seen in the Prime universe, the desctruction of Vulcan, the Spock/Uhura relationship, or Kirk's backstory for example.

I thought some of our authors have written novels that can not be released....

I would expect that the lens flares would make JJLit difficult to read...

I would expect all the books to be apolitical in the left vs right economic scale, that seemed to be the direction the movies were going.

You're forgetting that we did get those 4 "Starfleet Academy" books set in that 4-year period in the first movie, and they did explain some of the Spock/Uhura relationship and the other characters backstory.

I know about them, but I haven't read them, so I wasn't aware of what was in them.

Seriously guys, it's been five years now.

I don't know, the excessive lens flares in the Abrams movies really is the stupidest thing about the movies, so I'm fine with everyone making fun of it.

The lens flares are just a minor stylistic quirk, and the gag about them stopped being funny about fifteen minutes after it started. It's not even a joke anymore, it's a Pavlovian reflex. Time to move on.
