Looks fun though I find it distracting that the elf(?) looks like Bart Simpson.
I've been looking forward to this show since its announcement. While it might not be as quirky and scientifically nerdy as Futurama (simply one of my favorite shows of all time), it looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Plus, it's on Netflix so none of that Fox-oversight bullshit.

That looks really unfunny.
Even if it was funny, I still wouldn't watch it; much like Joss Whedon's diarrhea of the brain online, Matt Groening has said things that has put me off his new material. Not to mention the crap Netflix has done.

Normally, I would agree but the fact that Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein are the showrunners keep my interest up. Jointly, they wrote some great episode for The Simpsons back when it was actually good and a collection of good to great episode for Futurama during the Comedy Central years, while on their own, Weinstein worked on Gravity Falls (a brilliant show that all nerds should watch) and Oakley worked on Portlandia (I haven't watched it myself but I've heard nothing but great things about the show). Plus, they've confirmed that David X. Cohen of Futurama fame is also involved on this show.

I'm a huge Simpsons and Futurama fan, and the trailer was funny, so I will definitely be checking this one out.
What has Groening said?
I'm undecided whether I'm interested in this, though I'll probably check it out since I already have Netflix (again, finally). A lot of the jokes in the trailers seem too dark and cynical for my taste. But it's promising that the lead character is apparently motivated by the desire to assert her independence and achieve something better in life, which would be a nice change from previous Groening protagonists who just wanted to be lazy, dissolute slobs.
The season dropped today. Anyone else watch?
Overall, I really enjoyed the season, although it does have a rough start. The premise, setting, and story arcs are wonderful and the animation is gorgeous, but the individual episodes, especially in the first half of the season, don't offer much other much on the surface, other than obvious story set-ups.
However, the biggest issue I have with the first season is how a fair amount of the humor falls flat, to the point that I wonder who the target audience is suppose to be. On some occasions, the jokes are basic and rudimentary as if geared towards a young audience, but on other occasions, the jokes are macabre and raunchy. The best jokes are the ones that fall in between with the subtly and sophistication that made Futurama (and The Simpsons in its heyday) so wonderful, but too often that humor falls to the wayside in favor of the other two types. Of course, the nerdy references are also a lot of fun, including but certainly not limited to Futurama, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, perhaps even a subtle reference to Princess Bride in the first episode.
On the plus side, the season finally picked up with the final three episodes as the major story arcs kicked into high gear. Best of all, the show deliberately didn't resolve everything and left many mysteries unanswered. Much like Futurama, the show already has a wide assortment of characters populating the small universe, but my two favorites so far are at the heart of the story: Bean and Luci.

Not only does the season end on a cliffhanger regarding Dagmar's true motives, where's she's taking Bean, and the nature of Bean's "destiny" (as well as the fates of Luci and Elfo's body), the show also holds off from revealing Elfo's parentage, the motives of the Maru magicians (or whoever they are) as to why they sent Luci to Bean, and perhaps most important of all, what about Odval's fourth eye?!
Perhaps this is me grasping at straws for Futurama-esque hidden mysteries, but I suddenly noticed in the final episode that there were two little people holding Zøg's cape (or whatever it's called) and they disappeared through their own little doors outside of his chambers, doors which I suddenly noticed were also in Prince Derek's room. I don't know if they appeared throughout the season and I just noticed, or if they suddenly appeared for the first time in the final episode. Either way, I wonder if there's a class system going on there, something along the lines of the original intention of the numbered people in Futurama.

I’ve done the first three episodes. It’s fun and has some good humour. I like the signs in Dreamland (All eavesdroppers will be dropped off eaves). Luci is my favourite.
I liked the first episode, and plan to watch the rest when I have the time.
What's this feeling I don't want to drink away? Ah, it's excitement over a TV show. That's rare these days. Time to get Netflix.
The first episode was a bit of a clunker with perhaps half of the jokes seeming crass, stupid and/or just plain unfunny to me. I would like the series to succeed but it'd better pick up in quality. Futurama's pilot was way better than this. Of course, The Simpsons took a while to hit its stride - a pity that series lost its mojo 17 or so years ago.
If a fantasy comedy is called for, I'd prefer to watch an animated adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels.
