It's not a bad series though.Voltron's popularity in Western world is entirely because it was publicized and broadcast widely. Just like we know Gatchaman as G-Force. It has nothing to do with the quality of the series.
Meh.It's not a bad series though.
You're seriously overestimating how famous it is in the "Western World." If anyone in the non-US "Western World" has heard of it, it's thanks to the Netflix remake.Voltron's popularity in Western world
I've been to several non-US western countries in the 80s and 90s and most people my age there had fondness for Voltron and Robotech. You're seriously overestimating how famous it is in the "Western World." If anyone in the non-US "Western World" has heard of it, it's thanks to the Netflix remake.

Next up, Lieberman has “War Machine” starring Alan Ritchson premiering on Netflix March 6, and 80s IP “Voltron” in post-production at Amazon coming in 2027.
Skipping theaters? Oh no. This won't be good..

Why? There have been plenty of good straight to streaming video's.
Most of Prime Video’s action and fantasy movies have good visual effects because they’re made with huge budgets. But the movies themselves usually aren’t that good, and this probably won’t be either. They're have also been plenty of bad one. Im guessing this is going to look bad. A science fiction film with great effects needs a big screen to show them off. Im betting the effects are terrible. I hope im wrong.

All this time, we get a Voltron feature film - and it won't be on the big screen.Quite right. If amazon had confidence in the movie they would market it and release it in theaters. Instead they changed their mind and its going to stream. My hopes have dimmed.
