Sigh dude, I too liked Terra Nova, it was getting pretty good. Fox man.
Almost Human

Watching the robot and not-McCoy bicker while they drive around in that black future-car was more Knight Rider then the last attempted KR reboot.

Basically everything SM-G has said. She's stiff, wooden, and sounds uncomfortable.
Am I the only one that sees SM-G and thinks Sarah Michelle Gellar?
You are not. But I don't know any other good way to initialize her name.
You understand that if those fans do that you will only be getting a single season of the show right? How hard is it to say the word Sonequa-Martin Green?
Honestly, people are looking for any fault with this show, simply because the crew and showrunners set it in the past but have made it look contemporary compared to the original, and because they've decided to truly tackle current issues rather than just obfuscate them in metaphor like on past shows. Most of these so-called 'fans' should stick to Star Trek Continues (for how long it lasts) and The Orville, leaving the rest of us alone to watch and like Discovery.

I'm not a fan of Seth McFarlane because of his lack of tolerance for people who don't share his beliefs.
That said, The Orville seems to feature adventure, fun, character work, and as he noted in a recent interview, actual dramatic storytelling. Those are all things I want from Star Trek in general, but see very little of in Discovery. Had Discovery TRULY drawn from TOS, there would be a mix of humor and adventure with social commentary, focus on character, and drama. No, I haven't seen an episode of the show, but the trailers have shown very dire circumstances, a very old conflict (Federation vs. Klingons) and not any fun at all. The news is depressing and "realistic" enough, so I don't need that from Trek.

The TNG gen xers will just be replaced by the ds9 millenials.
Good man! I generalized, which I shouldn't have. Was channeling my inner sisko on a monologueI am a Gen-xer and DS9 was the finest version of trek ever made.
Moderately hard, apparently. The hyphen actually goes between Martin and Green. How hard is it to say the word Sonequa-Martin Green?![]()
I always mess up the pronunciation of a hyphen anyway. I usually say "Sonequa Martin *dash* Green."Moderately hard, apparently. The hyphen actually goes between Martin and Green.![]()

You do realize that without a single viewer the first season has been fully paid for. This is getting funded, and at a level far higher then any other Trek, through it’s overseas Netflix deal. CBS is hoping to double its online subscriber base, but even without meeting those very modest goals the show won’t end after one season. You understand that if those fans do that you will only be getting a single season of the show right?
Oh and since Netflix doesn’t release global numbers (well almost never) outside of us hearing that the deal is done we will have practically no way to measure the shows success where it’s most important, and that is outside of the US. Financially speaking the US is almost an after thought. You do realize that without a single viewer the first season has been fully paid for. CBS has thrown a vast sum of money trying to make a successful 5th network, they have tried for over two decades and still lose money off of broadcast.
CBS is going to not drop this investment which is even more important in getting a foot in the subscription based market where TV distribution is heading in a big way. I think a realistic worse and that’s with the Netflix deal ending after its first year (which we don’t even know if that is possible), the show should get three years and at worse a lowered more typical budget.
