Do they at least provide a spoiler warning at the top?No one read the AV Club review as it gives away the entire plot of the movie.

I stopped reading them years ago. The quality of their reviews have dropped hard, sadly. No one read the AV Club review as it gives away the entire plot of the movie.
Which is why I've stopped watching the promos and the latest trailers.I've read the AV Club review and don't feel that I know any more about the plot than was revealed in the trailers - it mentions some details about the characters we didn't know, but not enough to piece together the whole story. IMO it's a perfectly reasonable review.
It's a good movie. Still go and see it. It's just not what I was expecting and the main bad guys really are just there to be bad guys. Once the truth is out they just seem to vanishI unfortunately got spoiled and I can say I didn't like what I heard of the plot
I might go after my next paycheck, we will see. Just what I know of it seemed kinda lameIt's a good movie. Still go and see it. It's just not what I was expecting and the main bad guys really are just there to be bad guys. Once the truth is out they just seem to vanish
I'm an atheist so just personally I find this idea that humankind is the center of the universe a bit sillyI would love to know now what people think after having seen it and if it could have been improved what suggestions would you guys make?
I am reminded of Genesis1:26, 27 which says humanity is one of God's greatest creations. So does that mean we're better than anything else that was made like the planets and stars, the other stars and worlds outside of our solar system and it leaves open for interpretation that other life may well have been created.
It's absolutely silly but seems cultural and ingrainedI'm an atheist so just personally I find this idea that humankind is the center of the universe a bit silly
For sure, but I like how TNG actually made fun of the sentiment in an episode, and planet of the apes (the original) did tooIt's absolutely silly but seems cultural and ingrained
Precisely why I didn't like the ending. It should have been something a little bigger than people staring at screensI enjoyed the movie as well. It wasn't what I expected it to be - a sci-fi action thriller with mind-blowing visuals. It was more similar in themes to films like Contact, starring Jodie Foster. Emily Blunt's performance was top-notch. I felt the last 20 minutes of "disclosing the facts" could've been given a larger scope instead of having a bunch of people staring at their phones. An anticlimactic ending, that's what I felt.
