DEFIANCE Season 3

It's not a spelling error, it's completely the wrong word.

Which makes it a malapropism.

Eminent means "awesome, prominent or distinguished" and Imminent means "soon".

Of course they might have used exactly the word they wanted to use to?

It could make sense either way, but with the printed caption "Peace is at Hand", they probably meant "imminent".

My DVR cut out the second Alak (and alas!) Grabbed Stama and put the knife to her throat. Was that indeed the end of the ep?

Pretty much. It goes on for a bit with Alak saying he knows Stahma killed Christy and Stahnma trying to say something be him screaming shut up.

Ah, the good ol' days!
I must have gotten lazy and just hit "record series" without fine tuning it.

So who wants to play "How will Rahm Tak's day go to shit this time?"

So far we've had

-Nolan and Irisa blowing up his stasis net wrecking tank (after the whole visibly nearly pissing himself after finding out a guy who killed a bunch of Votans was coming to fuck up his day)
-Finding out the race of vampireish aliens that used to oppress his people are still around and have a ship in orbit really to fry his civilization once its fixed (after again kind of having the about to piss his pants look)
-Finally the hostage he was using to get Datak and Stahma to do his biding kicks his ass steals his car and escapes giving them no motivation to help him, and Alak heard about his secret weapons shipment he didn't want anyone in Defiance to know about so that's out of the bag.

He gets his ass handed to him by the Omec, yes.

Defiance falls over itself with love and gratitude to the Omec for saving them from the dreaded VC rogue cult psychopath.

Defiance gives the Omec ALL the gulanite they want, HERE HAVE SOME MORE GULANITE, NO TAKE IT PLEASE!!

The Omec fixes his ship and wakes up all the other Omec.

And perhaps out of gratitude the Omec end up sparing Defiance though the rest of the world is fair game, making Defiance some sort of promised land like Nolan and Irisa believe Antarctica to be.

i'm glad Alak found out about Nolan & Irisa & the baby... now some definite respect for them, and some very nice fatherly bonding with Alak. I wonder if they are setting up Alak & Irisa to be a pair....that might actually work.

Oh a nice shout out to Rafe...I miss that guy already

Nice fight at the end..if the mayor dies, i'd be OK with that...I don't expect the Tarrs to actually die until the series ends

they could get subjected to some tar(r) and feathering first :)

Yeah, I like that they took a moment to acknowledge Rafe's passing.

And I'm sure every DEXTER fan was amused to see Julie Benz and Jaime Murray finally face off once and for all. "And this is for trying to burn my kids alive in Season Two!"

I forgot to mention that they also answered our question as to what authority/drive Rahm Tak has for his campaign

These last 2 episodes have done more for characterizations than the past 2 seasons!

Oh...an the Omec -- EEEWWWWWW.. They definitely gotta go too!

:bolian:

First, not going to happen because of the game.

Second, it's much more likely the ship is going to get destroyed before they're able to repair it, leaving the two as the sole survivors of their race that they've been portraying themselves as. (Especially since there hasn't even been an hint of an inkling of Omecs become a playable race in the game.)

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who got a bit of a romantic vibe in that Alak/Irisa scene. Originally I never could have seen them together, but after the last few episodes I could see it working.
I did like him thanking Nolan and Irisa for saving Luke.
I'm kind of glad he's turned on his parents. I can't blame him after all the shit they put him through.

It will be interesting to see what T'evgin does now. He says he wants to stay out of it, but I doubt that will last now that Stahma's at his door with a knife in her side.
They are definitely doing a good job making their villains creepy and gross this season. First we have the whole Omec incest thing, :barf:, and then Rahm Tak kills his own wife to continue his nutso crusade.
We also got a definitive answer about Rahm Tak's role in the VC. He is not the total leader of the whole thing. I wonder if the VC leaders who tried to call him off will come into play later? They did send his wife, who is not coming back, so I could see them wanting to know what happened.

Yep I was totally assuming they were setting Irisa and Alak up. Alak is still pissing me off, he is quite stupid.

Omec incest, good stuff. Because, ALIENS.

Rahm Tak is the complete sociopath package!

And I would be perfectly fine if Amanda died. Though that was a cute comment from Yewll about her Amanda soft spot and the braid
