DC to REBOOT???

No. I haven't been reading Flashpoint (yet), but from the little I know, that timeline is so different, there is no way you could reconcile that into the DCU.

That being said, Deadpool is far more interesting.

Than Deathstroke, as well.

You know, I've never really read a Deapool book. You'd think I would, since funny superheroes are my favorite superheroes, but for whatever reason I've just never picked one up. It might be the Wolverinization of his publishing strategy, which always makes me avoid any character like the plague.

I like Deathstroke's costume better. It's right at that line of comic-book-stylish and real-life-hideous that works so well on the printed page. Blue and orange and scale mail? George Perez, you are magnificent.

Deadpool is an overrated character who is over-saturated by Marvel in my opinion. I've never had much use for him. I understand he can be funny at times and that's part of his charm but honestly other than the humor and violence I don't see much appeal.

Flashpoint is indeed the catalyst for the relaunch. We've been teased for months that there would be big changes stemming from it, we didn't know what those were until obviously the last couple weeks, and we still won't know until the fifth issue how the new universe is introduced.

Well, the idea appears to be that the Flashpoint universe is our (or rather the current/previous) DCU with alterations Zoom has made to the past. I assume the nuDCU will be the result of trying to fix Zoom's changes.

^ That's a good assumption. DC has been pretty clear that Flashpoint isn't just another alternate universe but our world. Barry has this realization in the second issue. Booster also has realized that it's the actual real DCU as well.

^Yeah, Booster supposedly had some device which should take him back to his own timeline if he moves into an alternate timeline...except the device didn't work (indicating that the Flashpoint universe is his own universe that's been altered). The main Flashpoint series seems to revolve around the Flash and Batman trying to fix everything back to a pre-Zoom version of reality.

^ Yep. I believe their attempts will fail and this is how we get to the relaunched universe. Vanishing Point's Zoom appearance I totally dismissed at the time, although i realized I shouldn't have now :) lol.

Has anyone else wondered if the Authority would be incorporated into the relaunch as a number one? That would be interesting. The team roster has changed over the years since it was first introduced obviously (in fact I've not really followed any of the attempts to bring it back). I know Apollo was used as one of the 52 Superman in the Superman Beyond Final Crisis special, don't think he was named though.

I can't think of a worse property to try to incorporate: while the Wildcats folks could, with a lot of shoehorning, fit badly into the DCU, I can't imagine the Authority ever could even fit badly.

They'd either be marginalized, which wouldn't make any sense, or they'd wind up having to fight and kill or be killed by the Justice League. Or at best mindwiped, ala the White Martians (why was it a big deal when Zatanna did it, but no one cared when J'onn did it? is it the same logic that dictates that Skrulls can be cut down like wheat, but Norman Osborn can only be punched in the face?).

I don't remember how the JLA arc with the expy version of the Authority went.

Yeah I don't see them working. I just thought it would be an interesting move on DC's part. The Authority has certainly come crashing down. I have the first two trades and that's about it. Other than them I don't think I'm really interested in any of the Wildstorm titles.

Bleeding Cool has teased that we should expect news on Supergirl #1 today. I'm assuming that means the identity (I assume it's Kara...not Power Girl) and any type of costume design.

I don't like Superboy's redesign. A tattoo on his shoulder instead of on his...clothes? That's lame. Red Robin's redesign is interesting, the wings seem kind of goofy to me and remind me of Falcon's costume. Cassie looks okay I guess. I assume Kid Flash is still Bart? Don't know the others, unless Raven has become some kind of dark energy creature.

Deadpool's main magazine is pretty funny, though the recent issues not so much. I haven't read any of the billion spin-off books.

This is some interesting redesigns going on here.

I had the same though Admiral_Young about Robin, very Falcon-esque from Marvel. It'll be interesting to see the functionality of that. Is it a cape with just some interesting aesthetics or will he be able to generate lift and propulsion somehow?

Cassandra appears to have a modified version of Donna's old starfield bodysuit. I haven't read TT in a few years, is the lasso new to her? Did someone say it was magma based? I don't like the absence of anything tying her to Wonder Woman.

Connor? That is a clusterf**k of a redesign. He looks a brawler from a 2am biker bar in the middle of nowhere New Mexico. Th tatoo is just stupid and then the logistics of how it gets there, too over the top. He looks more villain than hero.

Bart's costume looks like it's trying to pay homage to the Impulse days by having some hair exposed but they way the hood 'cups' the top of the head without closing just looks goofy. The more badass they tried to make him the more I'm chuckling at it. From what I can make of the res of the suit though from the neck down it looks alright.

I'm not even sure who the other 3 are

Here are the titles announced today, including some surprises: Sormwatch with a roster that mixes DC and Wildstorm characters, and a contemporary Sgt. Rock title featuring Rock's grandson.
