DC to REBOOT???

But seriously, I'm not really sure what you mean.
I wasn't referring to his current work, but to his annoyance with the continued use of his past work in the DCU.

Edit to add: on another topic, DC sent out the following memo to their creators regarding deadlines:

It is our goal to have three completed issues of each series in the can by August 31st, no exceptions. If that criterion cannot be met, we’ve instructed Editorial to begin work at that time on material that will be able to meet the deadlines for the series.

I'm wondering if perhaps Barbara Gordon will still be in the wheelchair out of the suit, and is just using tech or something to walk while in the suit. Unless I missed it, nobody has actually said she will definitely be out of the wheelchair 100%. I could easily see some pretty emotionally powerfull moments where we cut between her kicking ass as Batgirl, but then being forced to get back into the wheelchair when she takes the suit off. I'm really hoping it's something like that because IMO it would be kinda stupid to completely destroy something that has become such a symbol to a lot of people like Babara in the chair, when we already have at least one other Batgirl. I could see if no one else had been Batgirl since she was shot, but there have been 2 (?) women in the suit since her, and from what I've read the current one seems pretty popular. I'm just hoping there's more to this than a simple desire to bring an old Batgirl back.

That's certainly possible. Barbara Kessel actually pitched that idea for a Batgirl series right after The Killing Joke, but DC went the Oracle route instead.

'Batgirl Inc' would be interseting. And it'd mean we'd still get to read about Steph and Cass. I still wouldn't be won over on it though. If they're keeping current Babs, she's been operating her own organisation on equal footing with Batman and Superman for years. Going back to being called Batgirl, especially when there's a Batwoman of the same age running around, would seem pretty infantalising in that context.
Oh agreed. I guess I view this whole "#1" thing as a dark cloud, I'm just trying to find a silver lining somewhere. :D That said, I'm not going to be stupidly stubborn and not give it a try. Many of the #1's will get my coin, I may even follow for about a quarter or two before I make my final determination. I really want this to succeed, I'm just a bit "reboot" weary.

Peter Milligan is one of my favourite writers, but he's also very hit-or-miss on mainstream superhero titles; on the other hand, he's proven he can write Shade and, in my opinion, Constantine really well - so I'll give the JL Dark title a chance. Could be a fun read.

I'll miss Stephanie if she's being demoted from being Batgirl. DC often give the impression that they just can't make their minds up about anything these days.

Is this medieval-y thing the only title Paul Cornell has been confirmed as writing?

Shame that his time on Superman will be limited to that Doomsday malarkey.

Alright, so far I'm interested in:

JLA (Geoff Johns, Jim Lee)
Batman (Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo)
Detective Comics (Tony Daniel)
Catwoman (Judd Winick, Guillem March)
Swamp Thing (Scott Snyder, Yanick Paquette)
Justice League Dark (Peter Milligan, Mikel Janin)

I'm gonna do some research into some of the artists and writers I'm less familiar with, and if there's anything I massively dislike, I'll likely not bother with that title. I'm on a budget. :p

Speaking of which, I haven't read much of anything from DC recently, apart from Morrison's Batman stuff. Can anyone run down what the problems with Tony Daniel are? Is it his witing or art that people seem to hate?

He is an artist who has no experience writing and is rather bad at it. The same for David Finch.

They are good artists, but they shouldn't be writing and are only allowed to do so because DC wants them on the payroll.

It looks like Batman, Inc. post-hiatus will also get a new #1 issue:

Here's the current list (color-coded by confirmation/rumor/etc.):

OMAC with Giffen! And DiDio? (Of Outsiders fame!)

Oh, okay, I get it (I'm slow :p ). But when a mean old man starts complaining about the kids these days, you're not actually supposed to take his opinions seriously.

Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Justice League, maybe Batgirl. Beyond that, I'll sample whatever looks interesting when it's published.

I already posted the update on Batman, Inc. two pages ago or something like that. No Superman family book news except for writers announced on "Supergirl #1".

^^^
In addition to Bleeding Cool's report on the writers of Supergirl, they've also reported that Scott Lobdell will be writing Superboy (along with Teen Titans and a third unknown title). All of that has yet to be officially confirmed, though.

^ No problem. @Out of My Vulcan Mind...I didn't see the Superboy thing. Interesting. When all the rest of the titles are released and various things confirmed I'll post my full list of issues I'm interested in, it's rather larger than I had anticipated.

Is there anything interesting to come aside from the Superman family titles? I hope they've got their biggest surprise saved for last, but I can't think what it'd be at this stage.

Off the top of my head I can't think of what that could be. Maybe "Multiversity". Yes...I'm bringing it up again, I want to finally read that sucker.
