Can't believe they'll stay gone for that much longer. Especially since a couple of books now have back-up features.
On the digital-first front, DC is launching Justice League: Last Ride by Chip Zdarsky & Miguel Mendonça, and a new batch of the Legends of the Dark Knight anthology, with the first story by Darick Robertson.
My guess is the folks he rescued gave the name by combining his name with Shazam's.The people he saved? Why would they call him that out of the blue? They can't have him mistaken for Shazam, because Superman asks them flat-out if they mean Shazam, and they say no. They got to have that name from somewhere, and I guess the idea is that he called himself Shazadam.
Hope they won't. Sprock, we just got 'em back.
I hope they come out physically faster than the current Superman run.

Perhaps English isn't their first language. They are both part of the May solicits.
And again, why? If they know him under the name Black Adam, and he's not telling them otherwise, why would they do that?
English isn't my first language, and I can tell you, everybody knows the word 'black'. Especially those who can speak English, as those talking to Superman in those pages. Even if they didn't, they'd recognize it as part of a name. Or they'd have a translated version, like "Adam Negro", "Adam Noir" or "Schwarzer Adam", or they'd refer to him as his original name of Teth-Adam. They would not make a name up, especially not in a pun-way as "Shazadam".Perhaps English isn't their first language.
More of a portmanteau than a pun. I'm saying they were somewhat aware of Shazam and Black Adam and combined the names.English isn't my first language, and I can tell you, everybody knows the word 'black'. Why are you grasping for straws? Is it so hard to admit to yourself that Johnston was right about this?

First off, the movie isn't even shooting yet, there'd be plenty of time to change it. The name change might even have been an idea coming from the movie people, asking the comics people to establish it first to give it legitimacy, or as a test balloon for how it would be received. At best he'll be partially right. There's no way they're rebranding a character who's about to be in film using the character's original name.
I doubt he stopped and gave them a full bio with an 8x10 glossy and pronounciation guide. They're rescued by a Shazam looking guy who they think might be called "Adam". So they come up with the name Shazadam.Because that's what people do to the person who saved their lives.![]()
They've been pumping out the name Black Adam for years. The Rock uses that as the name of the film. Not seeing that up for change.First off, the movie isn't even shooting yet, there'd be plenty of time to change it. If he's not right about renaming the character but is right about a person in the book using the name "Shazadam" he's only partially right. Rich was pushing the "OMG! Black Adam has been renamed" narrative, yes? Which is typical of his brand of journalism. Always take the most sensational tack.Second, he's got the fucking pages. He's not partially right at best, he's partially right at least. And considering all the other options you and others come up with don't hold up under scrutiny, yeah, I'm more convinced than ever that he was absolutely right.
There's more Legion on the way. They just haven't got to the point where they're ready to announce yet.

Regarding the future of the book Bendis says:
"I think you can kind of tell from the jam issues and the fill-ins and the level of quality, attempting to keep it at the highest quality possible, yet still delivering that very special Legion feeling…instead of fill-ins that may not be up to the quality that we were doing, we’ll stop, get a story ready to go, and solicit it when it’s time. There’s more to come.
I know that’s frustrating for some people and some people just want it monthly. I get that, but not all books are created in the same way. It’s art. Even though it’s commercial art, it is art. The pandemic also takes a lot out of the schedule. When we’re ready, we’ll put out more. We’re planning stuff that connects to what’s going on in Justice League as well. Not to connect the two, but that is 100% within what’s happening."
I haven't read that specific book, but it sounds like they're taking a smart approach to it. I always prefer quality over quantity, if they need to take their time to put out a quality product, then I'd rather they do that than rush out bad products.
