I really like how the artist made Alfred and Gordon recognizable as Michael Gough and Pat Hingle, respectively, while also making them more comics accurate. Also, not the Joker Gang, the twins apparently inspired by Dee & Dee from Batman Beyond, the punk inspired by the Mutants from TDKR and the middle one obviously inspired by Prince. Not sure about the black one.

Looking forward to seeing Billy Dee Williams' Dent turned into Two Face in this series. It's not been announced, but c'mon, that's an obvious one.

To be quite honest, I doubt that's in the cards. Ordway had to make quite the effort for his Batman movie adaptation, and the expectation of delivering something on that level might be too daunting. There's probably a good reason why other artists took over the subsequent movie adaptations.

The story I read did mention something being planned for Harvey Dent, so I'm pretty sure it's going to be happening.

DC announced a some more titles to expect in 2021 during the ComicPro retailer event.

  • Deathstroke Inc.
  • Harley Quinn Animated Series sequel
  • A Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary title
  • Elseworld
  • “DC Vampires” (working title)
  • Robin and Batman
  • Joker: A Puzzle Box
  • The Legend of Batman
  • Crush and Lobo
  • Nubia and the Amazons
  • DC Middle Ages
I sure hope the Harley Quinn TAS sequel comic doesn't mean there won't be a third season.
Elseworld is said spin out of the recently concluded Death Metal event, so my guess is it's exploring the new omniverse.
Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary is probably a one-shot, as they are just about to start Sensational Wonder Woman.
Legend of Batman might change its title, I'd wager, as they wouldn't want people to confuse it with Legends of the Dark Knight.
I guess DC Vampires is either a resurrection of I, Vampire with other DC vampire characters thrown in the mix, or DCeased with vampires instead of zombies. Similarly, DC Middle Ages is either going back to the medieval DC characters like Shining Knight, or an elseworld setting with the present-day DC characters reimagined as knights.
Looking forward to Crush and Lobo. Been waiting for a new Lobo title for a while now.

None of those titles interest me. My wallet is going to appreciate DCs offerings this year to make up for the insane number of titles I purchased last year.

Milestone News: While the Milestone Returns one-shot print edition won't be out until late May, the digital edition should be out now. So, in this case they really do mean digital first.

Also, the launches of the three main books have been announced (with creative teams and sneak pages):

I&R and Hardware are certain buys for me, once they get to print. Static probably, too, but I'm a bit conflicted about co-creator Michael Davis being shut out of the revival.

Apparently, some comics shops have put Infinite Frontier #0 on sale early, and so the full and unredacted Shazadam pages have found their way to Rich Johnston.

"He helps and leaves." - "Like, ALL the time." Certainly seems they do know him, and this is the name they know him under.
Yeah, it looks this is happening. I could see them getting his name wrong if it was a one time thing, and they didn't know who he was, but if he's that much of a regular presence they would probably know his name. I was really hoping there would some way this wasn't his new name, because it's just bad. I understand where they were coming from combining his name with Shazam, but it just sounds weird IMO.
I wonder if they're going to change the name of the movie? Because if not, then they picked a really weird time to change his name.

Looking at the Bruce Wayne 'tracksuit' sketch reminds me a little of one of the Batman Returns (I think that was the movie tie in) action figures that was a civilian Bruce Wayne that came with a snap on chest plate, gloves and slip on cowl with an attached cape.

So, just got spoiled on one or two revelations from "Infinite Frontier" #0, which I'm not gonna spread further, but make me quite happy.

But, while there was word of "Infinite Frontier" #1 coming in summer, it is not another one-shot setting up the next batch of new books, but the first issue of a six-part miniseries involving the JSA, Darkseid, Barry Allen, and the Multiverse. It's written by Joshua Williamson (who DC appears to push as their new Geoff Johns/Scott Snyder figure) with art by Xermanico and covers by Mitch Gerards.

In an interview with CBR, Bendis pretends like 'Shazadam' was never meant as a name change.

"His name is Black Adam, and someone called him something else in the book," Bendis continued. "It's like someone putting out a headline saying that Marvel changed Spider-Man's name to 'Web-Headed Menace' because somebody called him that, and that's why I didn't respond to it. It's just so, so ridiculous. Even responding now is like helping a click machine."

Sure. That's just how that scene reads.

"Something must be done about that web-headed menace!" - "Who, Dennis?" - "No, I mean that web-headed menace!" - "You mean Dennis." - "No, wait, let me show you a picture of him."

Yeah, nice try, Brian, but I don't buy that spin.

Please, you and Rich were wrong. Accept it. The scene reads exactly like Bendis said. A nick name applied to Black Adam some people he rescued.

Bendis was 100% trying to change the name, it fits his current MO perfectly. Random, stupid changes to characters he writes that make no sense, and generally make the character worse. I don't think that the movie was going to use the name, but he was definitely trying to change it in the comics, at least for his JL run. The way the dialog was written makes no sense otherwise.

Makes perfect sense in the way Bendis describes. It's like concluding Robin's code is being changed to "Boy Wonder" because some calls him that in a panel or two.

The problem is that the way he wrote the dialog doesn't match that explanation. He wrote it as him trying to seriously change the name. Now, he's a bad enough writer that he might have just screwed up, but with Bendis the stupidest answer is probably the correct one, and trying to seriously rename the character "Shazadam" fits his thought process perfectly.

In what way? A couple of people insist on referring Black Adam as "Shazadam" equals a name change? I guess we'll find out in JL next week.
I'm not a fan of Bendis or his writing, but there was nothing wrong with that scene.
