DC Comics - Ongoing Discussion - SPOILERS

I just read the most recent issue of Justice League this morning as well as the Batman one shot and agree with you. I think I am going to like Act Two of the Darkseid War much more than the first. I absolutely loved the art in Justice League #45. This isn't a knock against Fabok because I think his stuff is great too, but Manapul's art really seemed to fit the tone of the story perfectly. Was this just a one-off for Manapul or will he be back for more?

I just read The Flash one-shot and the Superman one-shot and didn't think they were quite as good as the Batman one-shot. I hope the rest are a little better.

The Batman oneshot was exceptional, although I would have thought that Batman would have known about Joe already and dealt with that emotional baggage "healthily".

i liked the Batman and Flash oneshots. wasn't crazy about the Superman one.

"Superman" One shot wasn't great but then Manupul was writing it...whom I dig art from but his writing to me has been suspect...and the diner scene felt like a homage to Evil Superman from "Superman III". I suppose that editorial finally has their "Angry Alien God" at least on a temporary stage.

I'm looking forward to the Luthor one shot though.

So. More Dark Knight Returns Sequels?

Not impressed.

Okay, I like the art.

It's ####ing familiar and comforting.

(Frank and Andy both, for different reasons.)

In the original, each book had twenty ideas and you were like drowning in goodness.

Now? Less complex, more decompressed... Meh.

I suppose it's less strain on the old man?

####

I didn't ask him to write this, so what if I might have prayed for him to write this, but I have no element of decency in my makeup to be polite about some #### trying to me me eat a turd sundae... It wasn't awful, it's just I feel like he could have told this issues story in 4 pages, rather than 40, if Frank was still writing like how he wrote in the 80s.

That shit was layered.

Master Race #1 did feel much more like a 'normal' comic book. Not much going on in it. On the other hand, it also wasn't insanely OTT like the Dark Knight Strikes Again was.

I though it was an open secret at this point that FM provided the outline but didn't actually write any of it...

Brian Azzarello is credited as a writer also.

Compared to the Trump's stump speeches, is Frank all that unreasonable?

The Tea Party needs comics too. :(

"The President has passed his quarterly DNA test!"

:)

They're learning. :)

Is anyone reading Superman: Lois & Clark? I am really enjoying it. I didn't realize how much I missed this version of Superman until I started reading it.

i really liked the first issue. haven't had time to read the other issues yet.

Reading it and enjoying the heck out of it. Now if we could just get a book with the Wally West Flash...

It's funny. When I first got into comics and started reading The Flash it was at the tail end of the first series with Barry Allen. I only read the last 12 issues or so of that series. Then the Wally West Flash series came out and I read far more issues of that series than I ever did of the original, but Barry Allen still felt like the real Flash to me. I'm happy to have him back.

I'm really enjoying "Superman: Lois and Clark" as well. Jurgens was the perfect writer for this book and I'm very much looking forward to the big meeting between the Two Supermen in "Superman #50".
