Interesting that even in that abbreviated 30-second montage, they managed to fit in Lois kissing Clark, Lois kissing Superman, and Lois and Superman gazing intensely and meaningfully at each other.First tv spot:
Some are like that, some have a lot more commentary, other people pause after every shot to discuss it in detail. You gotta pick the style that's right for you I guess.Okay, I don't really "get" reaction videos - most break down to someone repeating "Oh my God" when they like something or "What the fuck?" when they don't.

BTW, apples-to-apples: This is the original teaser trailer for MoS, in 2012:
That’s the one I watched after watching the new one. I find this one more compelling than the new one. Not that I think the new one is bad or uninteresting. The earlier one, to me, suggested I would get a version of the story that differed from most of the others (regardless of media). The new one suggests I will get a more classic and familiar take on Superman. Either approach is fine with me—I simply prefer something that challenges my expectations. The earlier trailer did that more effectively than the new one. Obviously that’s a personal preference. It’s not intended as a knock against the new trailer or the new movie. I’m quite looking forward to seeing it.BTW, apples-to-apples: This is the original teaser trailer for MoS, in 2012:
I wasn't nearly the dedicated Superman fan then that I am now -- I didn't even see MoS in the theater -- but even putting aside any and every bias, I think I would have had a very hard time getting as excited by that teaser as Gunn's. At best, I might have been a mix of intrigued and uncertain about the tone and the dour, mundane imagery.BTW, apples-to-apples: This is the original teaser trailer for MoS, in 2012:
Wow, I have to admit, that did.... absolutely nothing for me. No emotional reaction to it AT ALL. I suppose maybe if I were a bigger fan of Deadliest Catch?BTW, apples-to-apples: This is the original teaser trailer for MoS, in 2012:
What Snyder failed to do was create a basis for the character that we felt it would "hurt" him if he did. Like, if that happened after 3 seasons of SUpergirl or Flash, we could feel the emotion. But "no killing" didn't seem like a "rule" for CLark at that point.

James Bond theme comes to mind. But it is like Alexander Courage's Star Trek theme. It is still used, even in part with different arrangements. It is more or less the theme of the USS Enterprise now. The Superman theme could and should have a similar treatment. Much like the version in the teaser is an arrangement of the theme, not the direct theme. Artists can still be themselves while homaging the past, and such a strong theme like that from John Williams likely should remain with the character of Superman in some capacity.
I may be a Snyderverse fan, but I'm also a fan of the Arrowverse series, "Superman & Lois". But I haven't liked a movie that James Gunn did since 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy". At least he had worked with a co-writer for that film. Gunn has been the sole writer for the productions he did since. Unfortunately.
