DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Well I mean, all indications are "The Engineer" is an antagonist in the film, so ....

Well thats a very weak villain for a Superman film, but it would be a more appropriate role for the character then as a heroic or even neutral force. Hopefully she's not the main villain, I'm pretty sure Superman could take out the Engineer about as easily as he could take out someone like Luthor's old minion Otis.

It's the Joker in name only.
Or rather, nickname only, since they gave their character a real name that never existed in the comics. He's hardly the same character, I agree. (Although that's happened before with DC characters -- see the Mark Valley Human Target series, which kept the title and the main character's name but nothing else, even dropping the character's defining attribute that was the reason for the series title.)

Like Travis Bickle or Rupert Pupkin.
;)
Yeah... When I first saw a trailer for the film, not having heard of it before, I couldn't tell whether I was watching a trailer for a real movie or a parody trailer for an imaginary Scorsese-esque Joker reboot. It was so absurdly pretentious that I couldn't believe it was for real.

Heh heh. Aquaman. Flounder
I thought that sounded fishy.

Joker 2 is going to make huge numbers at the box office, unless the script is horrendous. If the script is similar in quality to the original movie then I'm expecting some possible awards nominations.

EDIT: I do have to say that I wish the Joker movies were based on an original character. It's the Joker in name only.

The trailers with Lady Gaga have her dialogue sound flat and like a parody trailer, indeed ..... i REALLY hope that's not how she really is in the movie. Like @theenglish said.... it will either be a huge hit or an amazing failure... and citing 2 prime examples of sequels that should have done a whole lot better.

At TrekBBS' Box Office Predictor Game, all of us playing averaged it to ranking #3 for the year (I said 2, @valkyrie013 said 4, @Grendelsbayne and @The Knappos both said 3). The recent trailers definitely have cast doubt for me now...but we shall see.

Alright here we go: what’s technically our first entry on the DCU with Creature Commandos. It looks like more of the same thing we got from "Suicide Squad 2" More toilet humor/violence with another band of misfits(GOTG, Suicide Squad)

I know nothing of Dr. Phosphorus so I thought they repurposed Blight from Batman Beyond.

Well this is unexpected. 7 inch "Joker" figures planned by Mcfarlane revealed at SDCC. You can even recreate Murray's talk show set.

It's just so left field for me lol

On a more serious note. This set they're going to sell comes from a really violent moment in the movie. Kid's haven't seen it so I don't get the logic behind approving it.
Is this the first time a De Niro character has been made into an action figure or doll?

Is there a toy revolver accessory and a red blood spurt you can attach to the wall?

I think it's pretty clear that figures for things like Joker are intended for adult collectors. Does anybody know how much of the market for action figures for things like DC and Marvel is adult collectors vs how much is kids?

As for Creature Commandos, I think it looks like fun, but then I loved The Suicide Squad.

New Caped Crusader preview. It still makes me think of a DTV animated feature that WB churns out instead of a show.
