DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Why is Gunn determined to speedrun DC to the same place the Marvel is only starting to recover from? Every week there's more and more movies and TV series announced as in development.

Development is a process that can take years. (Didn't Kevin Feige recently say he has the MCU worked out seven years in advance?) So just because these projects are being developed now doesn't mean they'll all come out close together.

Also, in general, only a minority of projects in development actually reach the screen. A lot of it is throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.

You’ve been singing this song in this thread for a while, to the point of suggesting they should wait to see how the current production does before even starting the next. It didn’t make any sense then and it doesn’t make any sense now.

Just keep shoveling out the slop.
You're referring, I assume, to the Thor movies? :guffaw:

So far, all the DC projects (and only about half of what's talked about has been confirmed or scheduled) sounds pretty interesting.

Marvel had its weak outings from the very beginning. Every Iron Man other than the first one. The second Avengers movie. Three and a half of four Thors. But most of them were popular successes.

Okay maybe the last one doesn't fit where I'm going. ;)

Fast tracking projects is a sign they have confidence in this new agenda. We'll see if it turns out to be "Counting their chickens before they hatch"

Heck I totally see Amazon doing the exact same thing if their James Bond purchase succeeds
