DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Why is Gunn determined to speedrun DC to the same place the Marvel is only starting to recover from? Every week there's more and more movies and TV series announced as in development.

Development is a process that can take years. (Didn't Kevin Feige recently say he has the MCU worked out seven years in advance?) So just because these projects are being developed now doesn't mean they'll all come out close together.

Also, in general, only a minority of projects in development actually reach the screen. A lot of it is throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.

You’ve been singing this song in this thread for a while, to the point of suggesting they should wait to see how the current production does before even starting the next. It didn’t make any sense then and it doesn’t make any sense now.

Just keep shoveling out the slop.
You're referring, I assume, to the Thor movies? :guffaw:

So far, all the DC projects (and only about half of what's talked about has been confirmed or scheduled) sounds pretty interesting.

Marvel had its weak outings from the very beginning. Every Iron Man other than the first one. The second Avengers movie. Three and a half of four Thors. But most of them were popular successes.

"Strike while the iron's hot"

"Buy low. Sell high"

"Son, stocks may rise and fall, utilities and transportation systems may collapse. People are no damn good, but they will always need land, and they will pay through the nose to get it."

Okay maybe the last one doesn't fit where I'm going. ;)

Fast tracking projects is a sign they have confidence in this new agenda. We'll see if it turns out to be "Counting their chickens before they hatch"

Heck I totally see Amazon doing the exact same thing if their James Bond purchase succeeds

"The Moneypenny diaries"

"Q" with office antics

Young "M"

Heck, people forget that Darkseid's first appearance was in a Jimmy Olsen comic.

There's a Peacemaker podcast to accompany the TV show, hosted by James Gunn himself with cast members Jennifer Holland (also Gunn's wife) and Steve Agee as co-hosts. They are starting early to accompany a rewatch of season 1:

A little taste of the fun facts that come up in the podcast: The choreographer of the opening sequence dance number is Alan Tudyk's wife.

Forgive me if this was already posted!
Watching the Hulu documentary, “Batman and Bill”, about the creation of Batman…

According to the show, Bob Kane was a Big Fat Liar about being the “Creator” of Batman.

Bill Finger got pushed out from the get-go, as the real creator of Batman…

Guess we can’t ever really know, but it is an interesting documentary!

We know pretty well. Kane did one drawing of "The Bat-Man" which was a blond guy in a red suit with batlike wings, basically traced from a panel of Flash Gordon with wings from a Leonardo da Vinci flying-machine sketch. Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson did just about everything else to turn it into the Batman we know, but Kane went to considerable lengths to ensure that Finger was denied credit or payment for his work, and Finger died penniless as a result.

Finger would live for another forty years, and this was why he died penniless? :guffaw:

Doesn't mean that what Kane did wasn't a dick move, but your comment seems incredibly silly.
