I *do* like Kovich. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a bad guy, I think he's cool. (And I'm the furthest thing from a Cronenberg fan...his films creep me WAY the hell out, but here, he's great.)
That scene in "Die Trying" where he interrogates Georgiou was one of my favorite bits this season, if not the entire show.

I'm still interested to know how Cronenberg actually wound up on the show. Was somebody in the cast or crew a fan of his work, and just decided to give him a call? Or did HE ask?
By reports (can't confirm veracity) he is a Trek fan so he might have asked. Regardless, he is a blast to have on there. His reaction to Georgiou's asking about the holograms just was great. Reminded me a bit like Munch from Law and Order.
My theory is that he's literally David Cronenberg who somehow made it into the future.
He's a hologram of David Cronenberg who became sentient (as any Cronengram would). He wears thick glasses to protect himself from blinkers.
As he puts it, he was cheap, available and local. Plus he heard Kurtzman was interested in having him on board.

I like the idea that they were trying to trying to show up The Mandalorian having Werner Herzog. Not saying that is happening but the thought amuses me.
Here's hoping he and Georgiou explore and exploit strange new worlds in some weird bioship. They said one of the new fleet was organic, didn't they? That fits Cronenberg.
If Tarantino never gets around to making that Star Trek movie or whatever he's doing, maybe he can guest star next season as a Ferengi warlord.
