David Cronenberg's character

"You here traveled forward from 2379 and across from an alternate universe created by the temporal incursion of a Romulan mining ship."

what does this mean to you then?. If Discovery isnt set in the Kelvinverse then what does the Romulan mining ship have to do with the USS Discovery?. The USS Discovery travelled into the future using a red angel Ironman suit....
He doesn't say "you" he says "Yor". As in the alien in the TNG uniform. Kovich explains that Georgiou is suffering because she didn't just travel through time, but also through universes. He compares this to Yor, because he is the only other person that Kovich is aware of who also travelled through time and universes.

Also Discovery didn't travel forward from 2379, they came from 2259. If you're still unconvinced I can also provide screenshots of the sub-titles...

No.

Kovich clearly says that Yor traveled across universes from the kelvin timeline and then forward in time. Until Georgiou, Yor was the only person known to have done this, that was the whole fucking point of showing him. Kovich literally says prime universe to differentiate the universe discovery is in from where Yor and Georgiou came from.

If you want criticise show or have a dig at least get your fucking facts right.

You know for someone with the word Attentive in their name, you really aren't.

He is the character who finally admitted that Star trek discovery takes place in the Kelvinverse. He says this timeline was created by a temporal incursion involving a Romulan mining ship. Not original timeline. Sorry folks...
You didn't actually watch it, did you?

He says "from a timeline created by the incursion of a Romulan mining vessel". As in, he came from that one to this one.

I’m a little worried now that Cronenberg’s character was just there for Georgiou exposition now. I hope I’m wrong and that we see him again and learn more about him.

Cronenberg confirmed that he'll be in season four, and since
Georgiou won't be around then
that's probably not the case.

so glad to hear that! He’s only been in a couple of scenes so far but he’s utterly nailed it, creating an intruigingly enigmatic character.

just watch it again, listen this time, use subtitles as well, and pay attention ;)

I still don't buy that Nero created the other universe....just went through the tunnel that Spock made that allowed access to the always existing alternate universe, just as nothing created the mirror verse.

I think Kovich is the avatar of the A.S.I central computer of the Federation, essentially a living embodiment of something like Memory Alpha, that was named after its creator, Kovich. It can take the form of an advanced programmable matter being with the most advantageous properties of an android/hologram hybrid that can change shape at will and isn't vulnerable to the tricks Georgiou used to disable the primitive conventional holograms he tested her with.

When it referred to once being a "boy" it means after coming online, or it literally had taken the form of a young boy before. He already explained that the glasses are only there because they make him look smart, so perhaps the old school suit and tie are his attempt at making something more familiar for Discovery's time travelers from the distant past and he's only overshot the mark by a few centuries and used 21st century style instead.

Neckties did make a comeback in the 2390s.

This has been suggested before, but maybe Kovich is the Fed president. That'd restore his intimidation factor after I feel it was taken down quite a bit with the revelation he's not responsible for Mirror Georgiou's condition and really is just some aging mirror universe fanboy.

I really had hoped that they had removed that "gene" and she was dealing with feelings and remorse for the first time in her life.

When Vance said that he'd been charged with negotiating with Osyraa instead of the Federation President, I kind of assumed we were going to discover that Kovich was actually the President of the United Federation of Planets all along. Kinda bummed they didn't go with that route.

Yup. It's quite possible that the Mirror Universe is "fundamentally evil", and that there is a physical or physiological reason for that - but the reason the holos gave was supposed to be bullshit, and Georgiou "passed the test" by merely scowling.

I'm personally 101% certain now that Kovich is the UFP President. But I wouldn't be bothered by the writers never actually establishing this, as long as they don't establish anything contradictory that would be less interesting!

It's fine for the President and the Emperor to develop a rapport, but I don't want to see Burnham becoming a confidante of the Big Boss, or even being allowed to have dialogue with him. Burnham's boss is Vance, and even getting to debate morals or whatever with the Admiral involves stepping over intermediary bosses, of which we have had plenty enough already, thank you.
