And if you want that to change? Telling people their opinion is wrong isn't the way to do it. Demonstrated the opposite is true is the way.

For whatever it's worth, Ortegas is basically a Trekverse insert of a friend of mine and I think she's grand. The quips suit her. But when EVERYONE does it, and nobody takes anything seriously, it undercuts the drama a little. IMO. YMMV.
