Movie Experiance (Spoilers maybe)
We have so many threads about the movie, but what about the movie going experience. Did people laugh, cheer, groan? Did you meet anyone. What were the trailers you saw before the movie and how packed/empty was it when you went. The movie itself is only half the fun. One of the reasons I wanted to go last night was to take advantage of the other half, the atmosphere.
So for me, I was very surprised the theater was half empty. I expected a lot more people there but for some reason it still felt just right. There were no disruptions from the phone or anything, and it just was a calm but still lively evening. I did meet this one guy though who is a DJ and he seemed very energetic. He was on the edge of his seat the whole time and it actually seemed a little crazy.
As for reactions to the film. people cheered when they saw the Title, old spock, (I got goosebumps) and at some other moments. At the end, there were some applause (I don't really understand the idea of applauding a movie, unless I was going to an event and there were people who were actually part of the movie were in the seats. As for the people who work at the theater, I appreciate what they do, but it is their jobs and I wouldn't applaude them after a movie like Transformers either.) and some cheers.
The trailers I saw were Year One (Which looks funny as heck), Night at the Museum II, Transformers II, Land of the Lost, Terminator: Salvation, and GI Joe. I was a bit surprised as to the comedies that were featured and wondered to my friend, "Is Star Trek a comedy?" At the end of the movie, I realized why.
