Contest: ENTER Creating the "1st Annual Disco Awards"

We should create an Annual Disco Awards Ceremony. Just a fun, little thing.

I want to put together different categories:

Best Episode
Worst Episode

Best Actor
Best Actress

Best Main Character
Best Supporting Character

Best Scene
Worst Scene

Best Line
Worst Line

"Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera," as Yul Brenner would say.

And in the event of a tie, I need two co-judges where we'll decide on a two-thirds vote on how to break the tie. If you're interested in becoming a Judge, please notify me by PM.

Feel free to suggest additional categories. Though I can't promise they'll all be used. Again, that would be based on a two-thirds vote from the judges.

What do you think? Is this something you'd be interested in? If this works, I want to do this every year, for each season.

Suggestions for themes:

Most gratuitous scene.
Best Incongruity.
Best Anachronism.
Best "homage".
Best "homage" to something already done on Star Trek.
Best canon violation.

If I undertand the term correctly would this award go to a trekbbs poster? If so I approve, and will also add the following suggestions:

Vilest post. (about Star Trek Discovery)
Best grammar. (in a post about STD)
Worst spelling. (in a post about Disco)
Most incoherent post. (about DIS)
Most obtuse poster. (in a thread about Star Trek D)

 

The ex-mod in me wants to go "post not poster". I think we should stick to the show. Otherwise, things can go wrong really fast. That's not up for a vote.

 

How about: Most annoying monologue.

Best underuse of the colour blue (OK , I can only think of one example of this - the inexplicable orangeness of the "O-type star" in episode 4).

The Golden Mushroom Award for someone who can actually explain the spore drive to me in a way that makes sense.
