Costume Revealed - BBC Breakfast 8:45 Tomorrow!

He kind of has a 'college professor' look IMO. Sort of like Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones in the "Doctor Jones" persona.

Good call. I love the look, especially the suspenders. :techman:

I think it's great that Smith's Doctor dresses much more tame than Smith does in real life.

Looks quite meh, what happened to the suit in the promo pics the dark blue one it was much better. Hopefully he will change during the season.

Here you go folks, another full body picture:

Personally I think it's great. How exactly are people feeling "underwhelmed"? The Ninth Doctor wore a black coat, dark shirt and black pants. The Tenth wore a suit with Converse. Neither of these costumes were particuarly "out there" at all. Here we are getting something that, while still maintaining a familiar looks to regular audenices, is unique to what has come before in the new series and already gives you the impression that he will be a professor-type of figure to his new, young companion.

My favorite picture is the one with just him and the TARDIS, bow-legged and hands together. That just screams the Doctor to me.

So, was there a live morning television interview or anything?
They interviewed an entertainment correspondent (or something similar) and a guy from DWM. The only picture they showed was the "sat reading the script" one. They didn't get too much into it as it was only a five minute slot on breakfast TV.

Yeah, they're called braces in the UK... suspenders are VERY different and I'd be a tad worried if I saw the Doctor wearing them (cue someone posting the David Tennant in drag pic...)

He looks like the science teacher I had in my first year of high school.

I think it's perfect :techman:

Pfft. That's sad.

It's my opinion that Tennant and the BBC jumped the gun on announcing a new Doctor a year before David leaves. They still have to give him the main focus. But, generally, ninety-percent of fandom is already mentally moving on. Should have waited, or, surprised us in Stolen Earth/Journey's End, and THEN made us wait... :techman:

That bowtie is horrible, but not as horrible as those shoes and the way he rolls his pants up. The bottom part of him looks like a punkhead, the upper part looks like a proper doctor (except for the bowtie part).

Perhaps that's the whole idea; give him a split personality? An aggressive one, and a kind, "professor-like" one? Perhaps the idea is that he makes a lot of the wrong decisions; thereby making him seem more Human then Gallifreyan.

What I love about the costume is it's something fans could replicate with one or two trips to a thrift shop! The shoes might be a bit harder to find. But hell, an 11th doctor Halloween costume for around $30. Can't beat that! :D
