Costume Revealed - BBC Breakfast 8:45 Tomorrow!

ok here you go (from BBC News)

YAY! The Chuck Taylor endorsement deal continues! :techman:

Unsure about the Doc, though, but I suppose it'll grow on me. Seems kind of like a cross between Troughton and Tennant.

Looks like a school Teacher from a few decades ago. Doesn't suit a 26 year old Doctor.

I'm thinking they'll do a proper promo shot in a few days.

The clothes have that "old man in a young body" feeling to them. Gotta feeling he's gonna contrast with the tenth Doctor like Troughton and Pertwee. I'm thinking, sophisticated, charming, debonair, a bit uptight, maybe even a bit disagreeable.

He LOOKs 26 but masks 905 years of knowledge. I'm sure it will work to his advantage

Monster-A boy?! what can you do?!

The doctor ominously- I'm older than I look.......

Not at all what I was expecting. I kinda dig it.

And I guess I can go to bed now. Considering I have to get up for work in about five hours.

Someone should pay me :D

I had a vision that they'd give Smith a scholarly professor look with the jacket that has patches

I'm all in favor of a scholarly professor look for the Doctor. :techman::techman:

Trouble is he will just look more like a mature student, but I like that idea as well. We'll have to wait and see, I didn't see Tennant's look coming but, so far, the look of both NuWho doctors has been spot on and they obviously take a lot of time over it.

really? I have said some crazy stuff in my time, but not even I would have press "Submit Reply" on that.

TBH I had wondered about a bowtie, but really ive wondered about all of the parts of his costume, but I had wondered about EVEYRTHING else he might possibly wear.

A bit drab in the color department, but I kind of like it. Given the outfits we've seen Smith in since he was named as the next Doctor, drab is a bit of a relief.

Hmmm...I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'll have to sleep on it.

Right now I can't help but be reminded of George McFly in 1955.

Love it (and not just because I called it a few months back ;) )

Unconventional without being silly and hopefully we'll see a procession of different coloured bow ties! Love the smart school teacher top half and navvy bottom half as well.

Were people really expecting wild colours and question marks? this outfit completely fits with the new series look. The 20th Century Doctor dressed very 19th century, the 21st Century Doctor dresses very 20th Century...works for me!

I'm just glad they didn't go with a Young Pouty EmoDoc In Skinny Black Jeans! look.

:D

Actually, that jacket and tie affair is VERY similar to what Ten wore as "John Smith" in the Human Nature two-parter... wonder if the events of the final specials (with the Journal of Impossible Things rumoured to make a return) have had an influence on him?
