There are problems even with regular flu vaccines, people are all different and depending on ones circumstances different people react differently to other people, that isn't a problem it's just how it is.

This whole idea of Freedom Day in the UK is absolutely nuts

Such as? And which sources generated these? Factcheckers have debunked quite a few.

Also, aren't there more and bigger problems with the novel coronavirus itself?

People have died in receiving the virus. Even younger ones. The statistical numbers show the virus itself is responsible for more.

A mere reminder that not everyone is perfect and how ailments and treatments don't always work 100% the same. Add in drug-resistant medications, drug cocktails and it gets way more complex than that. Or "TLDR", as some may opine. Or "TDLR" since "baby talk" is used to replace proper phraseology such as "drug-resistant strains" with "superbugs".)

True. That will be true of the virus. Maybe it will be true for the vaccine. If anything, would have waiting 6 more months while wearing masks have allowed enough time to rule out most vaccine theories? (There's been nearly a decade of research already invested in mRNA, if not more depending on where you drawa theoretical line. If this were all within the span of one year, some tinfoil hats may be more valid.

    ^^this

^^this, especially with coercion (physical, mental, or emotional) or misinformation (e.g. coercion).

Especially if other solutions can work.

I'd read three weeks? One source read four weeks for Moderna... I'm sure the appointment schedulers will know best, I'd hope...

Agreed. The hyperbole has been outlandish.

Agreed. In most cases, there are not breathing problems or other issues. (Just as with most, there are no issues in taking the vaccine, and those with qualifying underlying conditions won't get it.)

Door to door is extreme. We don't even do that for milk and paper delivery anymore, so why for this?

Some of their claims stem from issues, albeit at a superficial. "Experimental new drug!" still has the better part of a decade's research and they all act as if it's only been worked on for a handful of months where a bunch of mice died and other aspects removed from reasonable (or any!) context.

There were articles from fairly reputable websites stating mixing different brands could make side effects more intense. Lego and other brands of similarly looking plastic bricks may not work together fully? I don't recall anything citing reduced efficacy, however...

The only decent Megabloks set was the USS Enterprise which I failed to get as it was so pricey.

I did have a semi trailer back in 2005 when I was in hospital that I made that was a neat set and a model of the USS Nimitz which was 1.6 meters long

There's an anti-vax restaurant in Huntington Beach that wants proof their customers are not vaccinated. How do you even do that? A picture of you with Tucker Carlson? Your Capitol attack arrest record?

That's just ridiculous. I hope the health inspectors really come down on every little violation this restaurant has.

This restaurant (generous term, it's pretty small) is right down the street from me. There's no way to enforce this, of course (they will kick you out for wearing masks, though), it's just flexing for the anti-vaxxers and telling them they're welcome to come there. Of course, I don't know why you'd want to go there even if you were vaccinated. You still wouldn't want your waitress Typhoid Mary to serve you the Bubonic Plate. This place is an incubator.

Ever since the pandemic I've begun to loathe every time I see my town trending on Google. It's never good news. Always a bunch of racists rioting, Trumpster rallies gone wild, or idiots protesting wearing masks / having to get vaccines, sometimes all together in one. There's a lot to love about living in Huntington Beach, but the pandemic has exposed a lot of the ugliness festering here too. I'm moving to Las Vegas, which is not an improvement but is all I can afford since I'm losing my house, but I'm not missing HB as much as I used to.

The heat difference is going to be a bummer, though. HB always has a cool breeze that keeps temps in the 70s or 80s for most of the year.
The state is threatening to revoke their liquor license over this, for being a "disorderly premises." The case is pending.

^ Wouldn't the concept itself be a giant health-code violation? Even if you ignore the fact that it's an anti-vaxxer haven, the people running the place don't seem keen to be following general health sanitation codes. If this were in Canada, you could bet this would be shut down quickly.

I think that normally, health codes for restaurants (in the US) are handled at the county level, and they have more to do with food safety based on inspection of conditions and operations in the food preparation areas.
As for Covid-specific safety measures for public settings and businesses, Huntington Beach is in Orange County, which currently does not have a mask mandate. The wording on the county website is that face coverings "are recommended for unvaccinated people" (but not required). Individual businesses can still require masks if they want to. Of course, there's nothing saying that businesses can prohibit masks.

Any buisness which bans the use of face masks is one to avoid.

Yeah, which is what I was heading at. I mean, the pandemic affects many aspects. If they're this lax at following measures and actively prohibiting masked people, what's to say that their food prep and hygiene is any better? It doesn't sound encouraging in the least. It sounds more like a place that has contempt for health and safety of its customers.

We got a notice at work this morning that starting Monday everyone has to wear a mask fully vaccinated or not and go back to social distancing; so the plexiglass screens we just took down and the rope barriers are going back up.
I started re-wearing a mask two weeks ago because I've been listening to NPR about the high transmissibility of the Delta variant and we've had a handful of employees out sick with a cold and I don't want to get sick before I go on vacation.
