Janeway: We're alone, in an uncharted area of space. We're light years away from any repair or supply facility. Once the shuttles and the torpedoes are gone, that's it. This ship will be battered, it'll be bruised, and if we ever get home it'll probably look like the Titanic sometime around the 1960s. But we will prevail! We'll have to survive on our wits, and perhaps sacrifice some of our principles in the effort to get home. Both crews will have to work together; now, Commander Chakotay and I appreciate that this will be difficult and, frankly, we expect fighting in the corridors, and therefore I've decided to appoint our observer Mr. Paris as morale officer.
