And Kelvinverse Kirk is an entirely different person from Prime Kirk, living in entirely different circumstances. So I’m not sure how his experiences are relevant.

 

When George Kirk cringes at Winona’s idea of naming their son after George’s father, Tiberius. Yes, their experiences were different: there is no reason to believe the alternate Kirk ever found use for R.

I understand part 2 is now downloadable. Based on its plotline, could "the unthinkable event" spoken by the Admiral to Picard be a Romulan offensive against the Federation rescue fleet --- and beyond (I think the 'Picard' trailer showed a Romulan fleet invading Mars)??

If this is correct, there will be heavy Federation casualties from the Romulan offensive, not to mention billions who die in the Nova explotion. The Admiralty then blames Picard for the invasion based on his conduct in the Romulan planet highlighted in the comics, leading to his Starfleet resignation.

Sounds intriguing. For those who have downloaded part #2 - what do you all think?

 

I think comics are massively overpriced, I'd much prefer a good book.

Twist with the identity of the vintners. I wonder what the waterfalls have to do with, and who the benefactors were. Good to see Starfleet computer security is still as weak as it was the half dozen times the Enterprise was taken over.

 

One of the greatest galaxy powers with the largest fleet in Alpha Quadrant and hundreds of thousands personnels across the galaxy still have a lousy IT security system. How ironic .

 

Gotta remember, to these people turning a system off and then on again is cutting-edge stuff ("Contagion")

I am a bit puzzled why the governor has fair hair? I don't remember any vulcanoid besides half-human Sela ever having hair colour other than black or dark brown (and greying varieties of those of course.)

 

I think the invasion will cause the feds to turn their backs on the romulans when the supernova hits. The surviving Romulans would be seen as pariahs the same way the humans of Titan AE were.

 

I think at this time, the danger of the supernova is underestimated.

 

Agreed. Sounds like the writers are setting it up like the Last Days of Pompeii. One day everything was fine, people were plotting and scheming along, the next day s*** hit the city/planet and kills most of its inhabitants. The Romulans in the colony were certainly behaving like it was just a normal day for them. The Federation also thought the supernova was still at least one year away so it built more rescue ships thinking they won't be using them till much later.
