NBC is also bringing in two new hyped-up genre shows, Kings and Day One.

My bet is that Kings will crash & burn. I guess we get to find out this Sunday.

Day One won't debut till next season. Could be competition for Chuck - I've read that NBC wants it to be compatible with Heroes. Then again, Medium is getting long in the tooth....

They should also be worried about that hack Jay Leno getting 5 hours of TV a night.

I heard they want to get rid of Medium. It's never grown in any demos and the only reason they've kept it so long is that they didn't want Lifetime to get all the rights to the repeats.

The producers and creators of Chuck seem confident that they'll get a third season. I think they're being way too presumptuous. Their ratings flat out suck. They're the worst on Monday nights. However, they're still better then most of NBC's other shows. But that's not saying much. And Chuck has a large, vocal, and fanatical fanbase. It's the only thing keeping it from getting Dollhouse-like numbers. You go to any of the boards on NBC.com the Chuck fans on there outnumber even the Heroes and Office fans 3 to 1. So I wouldn't hold it against NBC if they pulled the plug. I would hold it against the writers for not giving us an ending, when they knew that was a big possibility. The Arressted Development writers faced a similar situation(strong fanbase, low ratings) and had the decency to give us that. I'd be very, very angry if they didn't at least give us that.

From what I have heard, Day One is being primed to replace Heroes in the Monday line up for when Heroes goes on it's normal breaks during the season. So we will get that rather than airing repeats or worse, yet another "reality" show.

God, I love this show, even the "ok" episodes I enjoy. I want to see two more seasons. I actually wouldn't mind a "spin-off" with Chuck moving beyond the Buy More.
