I wouldn't say I love it, but it's...pleasant. There are far worse episodes out there. The actress who played Sarina did a great job, and the do-re-mi song still leaves me smiling every time I watch it.

Yes, it was contrived to an extent - only because we know it was scripted. But the music was light hearted and beautiful.

Children of Time is much, much more than decent in my book.

How can anyone talk about bad Ferengi episodes without that train wreck that resulted from colliding the Ferengi Comedy with the Klingon Soap Opera AKA The House of Quark....

Personally, though, I liked Chrysalis, the episode, though I really disliked Bashir in it, as I thought it was really skeezy for him to get romantically involved with Serena, who, for all intents and purposes, is somewhat of a child, despite her genetic enhancements... I am glad someone else mentioned the fact that Serena doesn't really express any type of interest in Bashir, too... I always thought the same thing, but wasn't sure if anyone else had noticed...

I agree with Bonzo the 5th. I liked the episode, but I found Bashir's behavior to be kind of creepy. Doesn't getting involved with a patient compromise his ability to treat them objectively? I would say it was out of character, but he pulled a similar stunt with "low gravity girl". This isn't a side of Bashir that I like.

I don't know. Bashir just seems lonely and he does like romanticized fantasies (pun intended). I mean he's always playing the spy and hero on the holodeck so I'm sure he always gets the girl too. I think he just wants to love someone to live it out.
