Chris Pine as Green Lantern? Yes!

They should have a 35-year-old actor playing Hal Jordan right out of high school. Then it'll be TRULY like 90210. :p

To Praetor: My understanding is that Hal Jordan was pretty young when he initially became a Green Lantern. Late 20s or around 30 would be about right.

Agreed, I wasn't really referring to Jordan specifically, just towards the trend of casting young actors for the demographics. In this case, it works for the character.

In particular, if a live action Justice League movie is ever made and they cast all-new folks, I hope they'll cast older (35-40) actors.

I can't help but cringe to imagine 'Kingdom Come' being made with guys and girls my age playing Supes and Bats.

He loves quality film-making, as do I. Singer did a beautiful job directing a beautiful film, so I hope he comes back to do another one.

Chris Pine would work as Kyle Rayner not Hal Jordan...I wouldn't mind David Borenaez who did a great job as the voice of Hal during Justice League New Frontier. Not sure though if David has what it takes to carry a movie...the last movie I remember him starring in was Valentine or whatever.

Pine is about the right age for Hal beginning his Lantern career--I doubt Rayner will get more than a brief nod (if that) assuming a series of movies takes off.

Superman Returns was a beautiful looking film, and that's about it. What is needed, finally, is a great Superman film. This has never existed before, not even the Reeve films...

To JacksonArcher: Chris Pine is 28. He'd probably be 29 during the production of a GL film if he did get the part. So if you're okay with 25, I don't see why you'd consider Pine too young.

Well, for starters, I didn't know Pine was 28. I thought he was in his early twenties, based on reports that J.J. Abrams wanted someone really young for the role of Kirk. However, I think that's a perfect age in any case. He does look a bit young to be nearing 30, but I guess Star Trek will be a big indicator whether or not he can pull off acting and being older than he is.

The actual casting call sheets specified someone 23-29 for Kirk.

Given what we know about the film's story, it mostly seems to take place rather early in Kirk's career, so Kirk in the movie isn't necessarily older than Pine. He might even be younger.

Well, it looks like Pine may be more interested in playing "Howling Mad" Murdock in the "A-Team" movie. The film's being directed by the guy who did "Smokin' Aces," which probably partly explains Pine's interest. It would certainly be an interesting kind of sideways career move; one thing that's been clear about Pine for a while is that being a "movie star" is a "nice-to-have" for him rather than something he's assiduously pursuing.
