Chris Pine appreciation thread

I haven't been able to find that interview with Chris doing the Scottish accent while relating the story about being kicked out of a cab in Scotland. I'll look this evening. After talking about it now and searching through Chris/Zachary interviews I want to watch some more. Those boys are really funny together.

So, about a year from now, "Unstoppable" is supposed to be opening with Chris co-starring in it with Denzel Washington. It's filming in Pennsylvania now. I don't know why it's taking so long, but they are still saying November 2010 at IMDb. With him co-starring, there should be an awful lot of Chris on screen.

Anyway, so here is what that one is about, from what I can gather from various sources at IMDb.

"Unstoppable": a 20th Century Fox drama about a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals. Pits an engineer and his conductor in a race against time. They're chasing the runaway train in a separate locomotive and need to bring it under control before it derails on a curve and causes a toxic spill that will decimate a town.

This movie is based on a true story about an event that occurred in Ohio on 15 May 2001 involving a train with 47 cars taking an unmanned three and a half hour jaunt through the Ohio countryside carrying toxic chemicals. The authorities feared that the train may derail itself in a populated area, spilling the chemicals everywhere.

Denzel will play an old train conductor who is about to be laid off, and the film takes place on the day that he is training his young replacement, played by Chris Pine, and on the replacement's first day on the job.

This sounds like it's a good role for him, plus I read somewhere that Chris really wanted to work with Denzel Washington. Here are some pictures I found of him during the shoot:

I'd like this guy's job, please.

 There's gaffers and wranglers and then there's this guy; I wouldn't even mind being his 1st assistant for when he goes on coffee break or second-unit shooting. We need a nice title for this job.

Great pix; thanks for looking those up! I am starting to anticipate this movie now. Only Denzel will have more screen time than Chris, I'm thinking.

JERI!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!! That picture is BEEEEUUUUUTTTTIIIIFUL!

Starquest: OMG! That video was fabulous!!! and when he does the accent i melted all over my chair!!!!!!! Thanks so much for finding it for me!!!

Neat pics of him on the set. YES, i'll be his dresser!

I'm going to give a listen to that video after while; my husband's got to run an errand, and while he's gone, I can turn the volume up. Thanks, SQ!

In the mailbag this morning, Chris's voice-over project with Tom Hanks et al has premiered at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. It's playing at one exclusive venue; but maybe there will be a DVD issued, and we can get a voice track. I'd like to hear his dulcet tones. Or it could be broadcast on television, and we could get the track that way. I had been wondering about this project, so I'm glad to hear some news.

The theater is cool: "...Audiences will feel the tank treads rumbling across North Africa’s deserts, brush snow from their cheeks during the wintery Battle of the Bulge, and flinch as anti-aircraft fire tries to bring down their B-17 on a bombing run over Nazi Germany..."

Oh, wow; that is an instant bookmark, SQ! That will come in very handy; thanks. Thanks for that link, too, Randi!

Here are the last of the extra-track screen caps from PD2.

Every time I think I'm not going to buy PD2 on dvd because I don't really care for the movie and I see these pictures of him it changes my mind. Too bad the horse riding scenes were so far away as I'd love to see him on a horse. Wonder if he knows how to ride? I would love to see him do a western and a comedy, a romantic comedy a la Cary Grant. He seems to have a wonderful quirky sense of humor and that face was made for laughing and smiling. Maybe a wonderful romantic comedy on horseback. Lol. Can anyone think of a romantic comedy that would suit his talents and looks? Nothing comes to mind right now but I will be pondering this all afternoon instead of doing any work.

Jeri, your poor eyes must be screaming with all the work you've been doing!
Will i need a special program to make screen caps or is that something that is just built into a computer? (i really am letting you all know how computer retarded i am now).

STARQUEST: omg! Thank you for that link!!!!! OMG it is fabulous!!!

I know, it's wonderful. Can you imagine how much work that took? I hadn't visited her list in a long time so I need to make sure this weekend I have all the interviews saved before they are taken down for some reason.

You guys can feel free to call me Pam. Starquest sounds weird but I picked it because I love physics and astronomy and it popped into my mind. I tried Ad Astra (latin for to the stars) but someone already had it.

Thanks Pam... i kept meaning to PM you about your name and whether or not we could use it...:techman: thank you!

I just watched one of the videos on her fabulous list. The one where the interviewer tells them about the XXX Star Trek movie....and Chris says "its on my netflix"!!!!

The two of them are so funny together. They really are so enjoyable. And, not for anything, but everytime chris licks his lips i lick my monitor.....
