I've noticed that many of the older Trek episodes pointed to as validations of the darker aspects of the Federation in newer Trek are absolutely horrible episodes that I've always hated...

Hate them all you want, but they're still part of ST canon and demonstrate that nothing DIS and PIC are doing is without precedent.

I wouldn't care if they were dark or stayed dark, as long as they were interesting. God, I wish they were interesting.
As a TOS era fan, I found season 2 of Star Trek Discovery very interesting. Season 3 not so much, and to be honest I'm not really all that interested in Star Trek Discovery season 4.

As for Picard season 1; I loved how it started... I couldn't stand how it finished. That said, they soon to be taking a whole new tact for season 2 with both Q (and if rumors are to be believed because it was stated she accepted Patrick Stewart's invitation publicly on The View), and Guinan on Picard Season 2; Plus an alternate timeline that seems more interesting than the actual timeline shown in Season 1, I'm at least curious about Picard Season 2.

The above said I'm sure it won't be a surprise to anyone here that I'm really chomping at the bit to see: Star Trek Strange New Worlds, which just finished principal photography of its first Season.

No Star Trek has been perfect and while I’m somewhat entertained enough by P+ Trek, none of its my favorite. Having said that, Lower Decks is a ton of fun and I’m truly looking forward to SNW.

I'm late for a Hortaculture joke huh. Have you heard? Axanar expected to be released in Spring 2022? :guffaw:

Apropos of nothing, I was searching for something else and happened upon this old Jan 2013 gem of a post by Linnear/Loken/Red Omega/Alec (link):

Right now I am at the Star Trek: Phase II shoot. Yesterday, David Gerrold, the Star Trek legend who wrote The Trouble with Tribbles, and is now the new Star Trek: Phase II Show Runner, asked to read my script for Axanar. Today, he told me in front of the crew that it was a good script and close to being ready for filming. I was shocked and humbled. It is, after all, my first script. Much thanks to Dave Galanter who worked as story editor and John Muenchrath who started with me on this journey by dragging my ass into the Robert McKee screen writing seminar. David went on to give me notes, tell me what he really liked, and said he wants to be on set for the filming this fall. It is starting to get really fun.

Alec

Which, given the scripts we've seen, is a strike again both Gerrold and McKee. :D

The Axanar Sporkings make that script a laugh, at least.

I wonder how much longer Alec can keep leeching money from the mindless?

It looks like he's selling off all of his PropWorx auction memorabilia. New emails almost every day. I smell blood in the water...
