In the blog post on FanFilmFactor about the new trailer it is stated the donations from the YouTube chat will go towards the studio and not the film:

Yeah, and if my granny had wheels she'd be a wagon.

Oh, and no public fundraising either:

No public fundraising? Including the gofundme by an axanar supporter?

and Alec is back to poking the bear threatening cbs he’ll debut axanar at Star Trek Vegas if they don’t stop sending him letters.

Eh? Where's that said?

In his latest axanar confidential.
He goes on a rant about how CBS just needs to leave him alone and let him make the movie and stop leaking informtion to the haters and if they do that he won't premier it at STLV. if they keep sending stupid letters he'll premier it at STLV just to "show them up".

Starts around the 59 minute mark 1:03:30 is where the rant really starts.

We'll see if there's anything to premiere by then. :techman:

I just about lost it when he said he wants to have an amicable relationship with CBS, all he has done since this whole thing started is talk shit about them. If he really wanted to have an amicable relationship with CBS he would have cooperated when it became clear that they weren't happy with what he was doing.
They've apparently cooperated with, or at least pretended not to notice, New Voyages/Phase II, and Continues, so they obviously are open to allow fan films to continue if they actually cooperate with them.

I'll give Alec this... he's shot more footage. Many of us didn't think he would even do that.

True but all his fundraising is getting WAY out of hand. If CBS moves on him again that will be the reason.

Let's see we have
- Patreon for ares studio (though in the video above he did at one point call it axanar patreon)
- Private fundraising that is anything but private
- now an axanar supporter setting up an axanar gofundme
- Axanar cash for some kind of axanar donor's store (coming soon)

Sure. But I wasn’t talking about whether or not CBS should or could move against him.

I was talking about Peters shooting the film, where many people said it would never happen.

And now Paramount/Viacom is back in the picture. If we’re wondering what they’re waiting for, as in why haven’t they dropped the hammer on him yet, my prediction is that they’re still settling the dust from the merger. Once all those pieces are in place, they will decisively and cinematically crush him. He will be made the example for anyone else that may try to do something similar in the future. He’s already made himself quite the public figure in the fan film industry, and has quite effectively done half their work for them. His downfall will equally public and they will see to that.

They are playing chess, and he checkers. Only a matter of time now.

There's another trailer out with footage from the recent shoot.

Meh. Take away the Apollo footage/JFK voiceover (which has jack-all to do with Axanar, BTW) and all you have is a couple seconds of starship shoot-em-up interspersed with a few shots of randos in bootleg Star Trek costumes. Lighting is better than the average fan film, but honestly this thing is only going to excite existing cult members.

I think all the apollo stuff and the JFK quote was more an LFIM "I create stuff" type thing.

Haven't watched the video, but the Apollo footage means that yet again he is copying something already done by official Trek ('Enterprise' intro), same as the D6 crash in 'Prelude' copied the Vengeance crash from 'Into Darkness'.

Well, at least JFK can’t sue him for IP infringement.
There has to be a better public domain source for that launch footage than whatever they used. It looked like an old RealPlayer video. Hell, just rip it from a documentary. The US doesn't have a "sweat of the brow" doctrine, you don't get a copyright just by digitizing something, as long as the original footage came out of a government-owned camera (and it's not like NASA was letting randos stick GoPros to the side of their launch tower in 1969 so you can't be sure who filmed it), it's still public domain.

That logo treatment is bad, though. And the little twitch on the horn hit in the score... even when I was fourteen and first playing with making my own graphics, I would've thought that was cheesy.

Yeah, but it’s transformative. As in he’s taking something that the official productions already did and transforming it into crap.
