Carmilla the series

She said something like Brain Gums, so I am guessing they are some kind of candy. How well stocked are Austrian vending machines? In Japan, you can get most anything, but this weird Scholomance of a university, I don't think so? They do look like sprouts, so they could be some cute nickname she has for them. I can easily believe Laura would make up funny names for her vegetables.

Carmilla's bastion of nobility comment is ironic given that she is a countess.

Ah, okay.

I don't know. Never been to Austria. I keep forgetting that's where the show is set.

Laura would so do that. She's the essence of quirky.

She is that, and there does seem more of that old quirkiness going on here along with Carmilla's snark. Their relationship seems on the mend even if that head wound isn't.

Competing lore.

1. Human Food has no nutritional value for vampires.

2. Human Food has no flavour (or nutritional value) for Vampires.

3. Vampires cannot keep food human down. They are dead with a very different digestive process.

4. Vampires have no negative issues with human food.

All points seem accurate depending on which universe you're involved in.

Has Carmilla eaten any human food?

Aside from the usual neck buffet.

Like the book, Carmilla loves chocolate. In the novella, she also could eat other things but her favorite thing was chocolate. Laura made note of the series Carm's constant chocolate theft back in her 'roommate from hell' report in season one. Also, they both like ludicrously expensive champagne. I suppose Carmilla comes in at #4 on Guy's list.

Those reports were funny. I wonder if they 'hell' act and the later pyrotechnic and stranger video stunts were an effort to scare Laura into going home like she had done to other girls? She hadn't planned on Laura becoming more dogged in her efforts. I expect it might be one of the traits that attracted her to Laura starting with the comment early on that even Carmilla deserved better treatment than the university and all were giving her when talking about the missing girls.

It might have been. I think Carmilla was very surprised that Laura wasn't scared off. She refused to give up even when everyone else wanted to. She's very courageous and sweet. I wonder if Laura reminded her of Elle (past girlfriend) and that's why she fell for the perky, persistent, tiny blonde?

Possibly, and moreover, Laura wasn't deterred in her attraction by finding out Carmilla was a vampire. Though, Elle didn't discover that herself unlike Laura, so whose to say Elle would have rejected Carmilla had she revealed the truth about herself.

Carmilla, in the novella as well as the show, tends to avoid direct confrontation and prefers deception over truth in dealing with problems. That led to Elle finding out however the Dean did it, Laura's anger when she discovered Carmilla lying about the possession and blackmail over the Sword of Hastur.

Carmilla often doesn't trust her loves to handle the truth. It's something she really does need to learn if she wants someone like Laura who will keep digging for the truth relentlessly.

Nice line in Supernatural last week about werepires: "If food won't turn, it's food."

Vampires are sexy as hell.

I can only imagine that they squirt mind bending hormones everywhere like a cat pissing to mark territory and it's hopefully not all about bad psychology pushing us (food) into thinking that love is real and forever and will stop us (food) from being thought of as food.

Honestly.

Have you ever had sex with your food?

No, I'm not talking about rubbing condiments into your lovers body, but have you ever seen a cheese burger and thought, "No, you get a pass, you adorable bastard, I'm not going to eat you, but how about you're so grateful that you're happy about living in my pants for the next week?"

An interesting thing about Being Human (US) was that blood would get the Vampires high if they had enough of it, and that Vampires could feed off other vampires, so sex between vampires included vampire on vampire feeding because it's their version of heroin which helps with sex and orgasms and the overall experience.

It's only weird if they eat their loved food after they've #### it.

Which sounds like a survivalists plan in a Vampire Apocalypse.

Lily Munster was a (green) vampire, but what the frakk was Morticia?

Gomez was the most disturbing and scary monster of them all: A billionaire.

HA!

Grampa( from the Munsters)'s full name is "Sam Dracula".

Blood, sex, and death are part and parcel of vampire stories, but I am happy they've eschewed that angle here. It would make this story more like something with that sparkly twerp.

OKies.

If Laura is exclusively attached to murderous vampires... And not the sour irrationally grisly person inside Carmila, then Dani who is fricking wonderful is now also a murderous Vampire.

Danny is the female version of a 'nice guy' who just wants to get into Laura's pants. Seriously, the first season is that entirely. Danny was all into Laura's investigating until Laura started working on her own and listening to LaF. She blew up at Laura like they were in a relationship, even saying she'd been thrown over for 'Elivira, Mistress of the Snark' even though there had been no dating relationship between them to begin with. Danny just isn't a character I care for.

Sure Danny may have been a little too over-protective of Laura but she meant well.

And being a murderous vampire is not her fault! Her body is being controlled.
