What about the Klingon lawyer from DS9? He didn't dress in a warrior outfit and he was a calm, cool in control fellow.
Sure he wasn't exactly like Martok or Worf (or even Gowron), but even that one had that harsh, overbearing demeanour "typical" of Klingons. It's not just typical. EVERY (TNG) Klingon behaves like that. A discreet, elegant, perhaps quieter person would be a nice change.
Cardassians are portrayed as real personalities. If you compare Garak, Dukat and Damar, they don't even remotely have the same personality. They are completely unique, fleshed-out personalities that behave differently from each other, react differently and don't even have the same priorities.
That's why I think Klingons are annoying. They're too predictable. Cardassians are not. But that's just my opinion.
