I've no doubt Freeman can do the job or the accent, but he wouldn't be my first choice to play a US government spook with a buzzcut, shades and an asshole personality.

He's not a character I really recall. Even looking at wiki links I'm trying to recall what I've read that has him in it, even after seeing panel shots from some books.

He was a flunky around the Sentinel program in the X-Men 90s cartoon. He was actually in the first X-men movie - or at least Mystique impersonating him was in it...

More recently, he was in Kieron Gillen's SWORD mini, and he appeared late in Matt Fraction's Captain America run as the guy who brainwashed Dennis Dunphy into being the new Scourge. (He himself may have been brainwashed at the time.)

It's not too dissimilar from the same question of "Will Superman get a direct sequel to MoS?" Dawn of Justice, is it it's own thing, a loose sequel, both? Is CA:Civil War truly a Captain America film that could be viewed back to back with Winter Soldier or does viewing AoU also become a necessity first? Time will tell I suppose.
While I fully like what I'm hearing for Civil War, it's just also a bit sad that Captain America isn't going to have a real solo 3rd film it seems. Oh, I don't doubt that Evans will be in nearly every scene but it's clearly not just about Cap, as most solo films for any project with the leader character in the title would be.
It's not too dissimilar from the same question of "Will Superman get a direct sequel to MoS?" Dawn of Justice, is it it's own thing, a loose sequel, both? Is CA:Civil War truly a Captain America film that could be viewed back to back with Winter Soldier or does viewing AoU also become a necessity first? Time will tell I suppose.

I guess the question is, does 'the search for bucky' have to be part of this film at all? If it's done well then I guess the answer is yes.

I wonder just how big a part all these characters are going to have. Hayley Atwell Idris Elba and Anthony Mackie were all on the A:AoU poster, but they all had really small parts. I can't find the link, but I've read that ScarJo has said that she has a relatively small part.

Well, we already know Sebastian Stan is in the movie, so we can assume at least some of the movie will deal with Cap's search for Bucky. Although now that I write that I realize he could just be a flashback or two.
