Spoilers Canon, Continuity, and Pike's Accident

Was NOT expecting Bubba Ho-Tep.

I personally put the whole story down as a "tall tale" which Robert April tells at the retirement colony, to ever increasing levels of exaggeration. Nothing about it makes sense otherwise.
Alan Dean Foster wrote it off as entirely made up alien mind games.

Side Note: Star Trek could use a little Bruce Campbell.
If they can have him show up as Santa asking for Una to help him out "again" it would make my Christmas.

Although I wouldn’t be opposed to the possibility. of a future appearance. As Homicide: Life on the Street fans know, Campbell CAN play it straight…
The "Justice" two-parter was what made me a Bruce Campbell fan in the first place. He was very pleased when I brought it up to him in the autograph line after an Evil Dead screening.

Is it true that in "Strange New Worlds", Spock and Christine Chapel are romantically attracted to each other?

S02E03 basically let it outta the bag that it's a different timeline anyways, some things might come to fruition (Pike's accident) but other things are gonna get heavily retconned or erased.
Continuinity wise:
James never mentioned George served on the 1701, Chapel was basically in shock at Spock's emotions in Amok Time, doubly shocked when Spock said he was married.
Certain crew members had no clue who Khan Noonien Singh was in TOS, but everyone here knows La'An's connection to him.
The biggest canon break is the Gorn thing but that's a whole thread subject.
I am honestly enjoying SNW for what it is but part of me wishes this and Discovery were set in the LD timeline or somewhere nearby (2390s) and flesh out the Romulus destruction better than what we got in PIC S1.
Given an existential threat to the Federation when the Feds realize Romulans even if evil were holding back even worse creatures or aliens from the far end of the Beta Quadrant, and now they are in over their heads.
Flinging Discovery to the 31st century was a big mistake, now whatever timeline we see will never matter because we already know the outcome.

Still the same universe, since 1966.

SNW is just fixing some mistakes made by earlier writers.

Wrong. It matters every week, every episode.

Because it's not real. It's fiction and it's not one story. It's hundreds of stories, some better than others.
