And then there was the Ninth, who didn't do 'Domestic' and referred to humans as 'Stupid Apes'

Let's face it, Time Lords fraternising with humans... The equivalent of us anthropomorphising cats and dogs.

So I missed this episode. Is it needed for me to watch the two part finale?

Minor references to the ongoing arc. It is a really good episode on it's own (which is a nice change from last season).

I'll watch the episode at some point, BBC America just doesn't ever rerun the episodes at a decent time. They show them at 8pm Sunday and 3-4am Mondays and that's it.

So unless I track it down illegally I'll have to wait until they do a season long marathon and hope I'm not busy.

Doctor Who is literally the only show I watch, I didn't have a TV even until December. I sometimes watch The Connors (Roseanne), Grown-ish and The Good Place but they were all on Hulu the day after. I watch Doctor Who at my family's.

I liked this one, but it felt to me like there was a glorious opportunity missed of making this into a two-parter. First part being the companions on their own, living their lives outside the TARDIS until the tail end, when their lives outside and inside the TARDIS collide like they do halfway in this episode. Then the second episode could have focused on demonstrating the villain's persona better, and making a less convoluted climax (which I don't even remember by now). But I will say, concept-wise its kinda brilliant, Doctor Who's Freddy Krueger, sorta. Its just too bad that, like the rest of Chib's era, its got great idea but never quite risky to go the extra mile to produce a more exciting result. Its... vanilla.

Wow! Sincere thanks for enlightening me. I can imagine it's hard to know what to say. But, I had no idea that some people would just walk out!

I hope you're well now or at least on the road to recovery. Best wishes.

    Thanks :)

I think that it's such a hard thing to hear it can be a bit overwhelming. It was much harder for me to tell my family the diagnosis than it was to recieve it.

I have been clear about 3 and half years but still think about it everyday. I still have to get regular checks so it never really goes away even if you are healthy.

A thought. If the Doctor's own fear as revealed in this episode is being on her own – she isn't happy about having to entertain herself without her companions, talks to them even when they're not there, immediately gets them back together the moment a crisis arises, even says that 'plays well with others' is one of her greatest strengths – then it is interesting that this season's stories have seen her separated from her companions so often. Almost as if the Doctor is going to have to face her fear by the end of the season...
