^ I know how you feel.
I liked Trip before I warmed up to Archer. I didn't start really liking Archer's character until after Judgement.
I've called myself a character development junkie. I like angsty character moments, backstories, and anything else that adds depth to characters.
This season I was disappointed in what happened to Trip's character. But, if I express my disappointment, am I ready to handle the possible debate back and forth? So I usually don't say some things here.
In case anyone's interested, my beef with Trip's character development this season was about the grief that finally came up again in the home stretch of the season. Delayed grief was a good way to bring it up again, but it seemed like the writers had forgotten about the grief angle and desperately needed some way to bring it up again. And the low number IMO of Trip engineering miracles. I would like Trip to pull more uber cool engineering miracles next season.
I don't think the ignore feature is the only solution. I think people can changethe way they say things in their posts and the way they respond to posts if they want to. Thinking about problems I've seen around here has made me look at my own behavior, and ask myself what role I've played in 'shippy disagreements.
If nothing else, this thread has gotten people talking about the subject. And made people think about it.
