Bujold Vs. Mulgrew

I thought he was usually good unless he had to do something emotional, then I didn't care for him

I didn't care for his panting. Each time he played someone overcome by emotion he would start panting and I found that really annoying, fortunately that didn't happen too often.

I saw Bujold and did not care for her Janeway.

And I like Kate Mulgrew's version. I laugh hearing, "there's coffee in that nebula!"
Then maybe you will support my previous mentioned theory about the images of Captain Nicole Janeway as a nightmare Kathryn had about one of her aunts! :D

Frankly, I would have liked to see more of Bujold's Janeway. Her acting is definitely more subdued than Mulgrew's but it's also more nuanced, nay more subtle. Well, I guess we'll never know and that's too bad.

I might have had Bujold in a guest starring role in one episode. That might not have been too much for her.
I could see her as the Borg Queen's rival, say...

I have no idea about the methods but it is obvious from the relaunch books that the moment a Borg Queen dies, they already have a new one. So when Admiral Janeway kills her off in ENDGAME, there's a new one already ... and in the first relaunch story's case, she is none other than someone here on Earth ...

You mean someone originating from Earth, not someone currently on Earth, don't you?

So that would be someone who's currently not a borg, yet is already fated to become the next borg queen?
I take it you haven't read the relaunch books. I can tell you what I remember (very vaguely) but I can't do that spoiler-free. Is that OK with you?

No problem, just put the spoiler thingy so that people who don't want to know can't learn it accidentally.

I don't know how to do that so I'll say in block capitals. SPOILER! SPOILER! SPOILER!
IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE RELAUNCH BOOKS, DON'T READ THIS!
(On the other hand if you have, please help me out here. My memory is fragmentary at best.)
Anyway ... Mr.Picard ... I mean Mr. Locutus, of course (why did he have a name instead of a designation? I've always found that dumb ...) Do you remember Libby? You know Harry's girlfriend. Now, in the relaunch books (HOMECOMING and THE FARTHER SHORE are the title of the first story), it turns out that Libby is a secret agent.
In fact so much so that not even Harry or anyone else has any ideas about this. Not even our beloved Janeway, who - as we know it - always seems to know everything. Only the readers know that and of course the people who Libby works with.
So there's Libby working as an undercover agent for whatever organisation and if memory serves, the organisation in question has been long suspecting that there must be a transwarp corridor (or whatever you call it in English) near Earth. You know the one that Voyager used for coming home. As far as I remember, they can't prove it just yet or maybe they can but it hasn't been revealed to the general public in order to avoid panic.
Their theory is, I think that the corridor is so near to our planet because the Borg have already been planning an all-out attack against the Earth. Their hunch is that the attack hasn't started yet.
What they don't know, however, is what I've already mentioned earlier: when the Borg Queen dies, then immediately a new one is born/bred/created/elected ... no idea what the method is. If they knew this, they would be more careful because they have some vague ideas that some of the borg drones might already be here on Earth (in the shape of humans or other, not unusual aliens on Earth). But they don't know that the new Borg Queen is also among these drones who have already infiltrated Earth.
To make matters more complicated, the new Borg Queen is someone who works for the same organization as Libby. It might even be her boss, I don't remember that. In any case, Libby will be the first one to become suspicious and will play a key role in unveiling the new borg Queen. She, however, is in a difficult position because not only does she not want to create a panic but she also wishes to keep her secret identity, mainly from Harry but basically from everyone else. But ultimately, she will manage it as you might have suspected.
Now how does that sound for an explanation? I might be wrong, though, about the details. I wish someone would corroborate me (or contradict me).

Thank you for all these explanations. I really appreciate that.:)

Any time. I read these two books more than ten years ago so I am most probably wrong about the details. But basically that was it. SPOILERS CONT! The story is also about a holographic rebellion started by our EMH with his novel on holographic rights which comes in handy for the Borg because it'll lead to an almost planet-wide rebellion of the holograms and so the Borg have their chance of plotting without being noticed.
Of course, no one reckons with the exceptional abilities of Libby Webber ...
The borg story, btw, does not end here ...

I am guessing that admiral Janeway didn't really destroy them.
