There is such a thing as being too talented for the role. Timothy Dalton, also Shakespearean trained, is generally regarded as one of the lesser Bonds.
I would really enjoy Fair Haven - it seems like a very relaxing environment. And since gay issues aren't addressed on VOY, Fair Haven is a paradise for a person like myself because it seems I could programme the ideal guy in accordance with my taste ...I get the point about playing on the holodeck to relieve stress but man,Fair Haven and Captain Proton?
All I will say is if that relieves stress for the Voyager crew then they are easily amused.![]()

Well, thank you, Ghislaine! You've $aved me a whole lot of time and trouble. Most kind.
Yay! Another fanMy favourite holodeck programme is undoubtedly Leonardo da Vinci.
Wasn't Leonardo just great? Also, I liked the fact that he was played by Gimli the dwarf ...Yay! Another fan![]()
I'm not a fan - I've always seen him as a bit of a 'ham', you can see him acting. Was a big improvement on Moore though. There is such a thing as being too talented for the role. Timothy Dalton, also Shakespearean trained, is generally regarded as one of the lesser Bonds.
Neelix is my least favorite character in all of ST. I despise him. Ethan Phillips seems like a nice enough guy and a capable actor.I'm not a fan - I've always seen him as a bit of a 'ham', you can see him acting. Was a big improvement on Moore though.
Very often, an actor / character you're not fond of grows on you. Ethan Phillips managed it with the horrible Neelix, which was testament to him as an actor. Mulgrew completely failed to grow on me. Likewise Tim Russ as Tuvok.
Well, Mulgrew was the right choice for YOU but maybe not for me. I respect your opinion (even if you are wrong, lol)
To be fair, we haven't seen what Berman and Braga saw to make them want Bujold.
The point being, someone liked her at some point and it would be interesting to know why.As I have already said, Berman didn't feel Bujold was the right choice for Janeway. right the beginning (and even, before the actress begins the rehearsals). But, the Paramount's executives wanted a big name to lead the cast in order to attract viewers and Bujold was a reference in 80s and 90s. As for Braga, his involvement in Voyager really began from s4 (Seven of Nine was his creation and Jeri Ryan, his choice) and later, he took Jeri Taylor's seat as producer.
You wouldn't even need Fair Haven to program the perfect man...just a holodeckI would really enjoy Fair Haven - it seems like a very relaxing environment. I wouldn't be very easily amused by the Captain Proton simulation but I understand why Tom and Harry are.
My favourite holodeck programme is undoubtedly Leonardo da Vinci. That one would be interesting, especially if I could use it together with Janeway.
For relaxation purposes I would use the Paxau resort all the time. It's a pity we don't see it after Season 3.
For genuine excitement, I think Tuvok and Tom's insurrection programme is the best. That would be fun, playing on both sides. Even Janeway couldn't wait to see how Janeway would outwit the conspirators ...
As for Genevieve Bujold, I just can't see her falling in love with Michael Sullivan. But who knows? As Tom put it on SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME, "stranger things have happened. Just look at me and B'Elanna".
