Building the Eaglemoss Enterprise-D partwork

Glad you're feeling better. Take your time and get lots of rest. My wife and I both got hit with the original Alpha last August. She bounced back after a couple of days and I was on my ass for 2 weeks. Everything's good now, but it will take time.

thanks man, I was lucky I had a very mild case, It started with a bad cough and then I just wanted to sleep all the time. After about 4-5 days I was fine. Other than a very slight headache that was all the symptoms I had so I consider myself very lucky.

I hear this thing is a nightmare to build.
I guess you could say that, I try to do 10 minutes at the end of every day to calm me down, in particular if it has been a stressful day. It’s kind of meditative if you approach it with the correct frame of mind. Yes, like anything else it can be frustrating though!

I’m not sure, I don’t know anything about this type of model building or screws… I’m learning as I go along!

Perhaps with these images above showing dimensions someone can investigate. I will continue to try and find out though. I have also emailed customer support to ask.

I’m actually building it in a school boiler room which looks like the USS Enterprise D engineering section… kinda…

10 minutes at the end of each day like I said before the long drive home. :bolian:

thats awesome thanks mate :)

Also remember FM are designed for screwing in to metal, They helped in particular with attaching the nacelle strut panels which were kind of loose and just spinning around. I feel that these would actually have been better off as FM screws in the first place!

Recommend you maybe put a blanket or towel down on the table. You don't want the paint or details to get worn off by rubbing against an exposed surface.

I have had a problem with finding a solution to replacing FM screws themselves when they become loose and over tightened/thread bare as there are no larger screws than FM available to put in place of them. This has happened maybe 2-3 times, and only affected the skeletal frame and I had to get help off the school Caretaker for this who provided me with a viable solution. I will post pictures tomorrow, it’s actually an easy solution but only found by the pure luck that I asked the right person for help who happened to have something to hand that he uses as part of his work for the same problem when he over tightens screws on shelves etc

Could you imagine if the people at Eaglemoss decided to do a Star Trek Picard April’s fool joke and deliver a final sticker saying ISS World Razor?

I think now that the top of the saucer section is complete they need to send the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D sticker to put our minds at rest so that this model is not given a last minute twist lol! I’m more worried about this than the screws tbf now that you have brought it up.

**edit**

Maybe they will offer labeling options such as Enterprise, Yamato, Challenger, Odyssey….

And double the fun since the Yamato had two different registry entries.

The idea is neat. I'm a sucker for 'same class, different name' ship models. However, Hero Collector's licences tend to be strictly defined and may only allow for "partwork USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D". Plus, even if they made the stickers, the rest of the ship is already labelled E-D.

Good one! In Star Trek Online, my Galaxy-X dreadnought stolen from the Terran Empire is the ISS Yamato NCC-1305-E.
